This simple and effective tool ensures that you achieve the lowest possible nut action while eliminating open buzz. With four built-in preferences of bump up above a "zero" fret - 0.000 (in thousandths of inches), 0.003, 0.005, and 0.008, the Nut Slot Gauge easily and accurately measures your nut slots' current heights, with or without strings, and unaffected by action or truss rod setting. This helps you achieve the softest feel and also the least detuning due to grip.
(If you discover any low slots, you can then fill them with Nut Rescue Kit, also offered in our online store, and recut to the perfect depth.)

I had to look up this video to comment. This thing really is great, if you think you may file 2 more nuts in your lifetime, get this thing. No more flopping the sting in and out, and it’s deadly accurate and easy to use. I’m going back to audit all of my slots with this thing on my guitars to make sure they’re perfect. Maybe if you could make a little hard case for it to protect it so it doesn’t get banged up in the toolbox.

It looks like the setting is zero at all four corners of the gauge. Does the user have to file material off 3 venerable holes o get the desired measurement with the fourth corner being zero?

All I can say is this is the fastest and consistent method I’ve used and I’m hooked. I just bought one and wow, it’s so easy and reliable. I hate feeler gauges because I play guitars with radiuses on the fretboard and the curvature makes it hard to get an accurate reading. This method works GREAT. Ended up going through all my other guitars and taking off a little extra that was free on the nuts and big difference. A couple of my guitars were over .008 so took them down to around .004. No buzzing at all. Great job @musiccitybridge . Fast shipping too!

Im confused on the measurements. If I were using feeler gauges, I would use a 0.016-0.020 but this measures for 0.003-0.008? How does that make sense? What am I missing?
