This new NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti is built on the Ada Lovelace architecture using the AD103 die not the AD104 like the 4070 Ti. The 4070 Ti Super has more in common with the 4080 than the 4070 Ti. Does the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti Super hold up or is it a bust? Lets find out.

This is the OC version of the card NOT the MSRP version that everyone else tested. We recorded this card boost to around 237MHz higher than the MSRP cards. We mentioned this right at the start of the video and also mentioned that the VBIOS issue that impacts performance on the MSRP version does NOT apply to the OC variant.

I seen that MSI issued bios updates for the OC variant and the other ti super models. I am happy to see the OC version performs in line between the Ti and 4080. Do you recommend to update this to the latest bios? Do you think it will negatively affect it as well?

Anything below 16GB Vram will struggle at higher resolutions without upscaling and frame generation in that time lol.

Man I haven't followed PC hardware at all in almost a year. I used to be a die hard guy and have to admit I have no idea what a Ti-Super is ... Miss the days of easy naming where it was just Ti.

Really enjoyed these graphs. Everyone else has these graphs that’s just absolutely massive and overwhelming. This cut fat and gives gamers mostly what they care about. If you could add 1% lows though and I believe it would give the average Joe what they need to know about GPUs if they’re in the market for a brand new GPU.

I really think the OC Ventus version you had reviewed has saved it some embarrassment. Brian from Tech Yes has the vanilla non oc version with much weaker results. Two issues prop up for me when it comes to the RTX 4070 ti Super. (Owner of a RTX 4080) Instead of increasing the L2 cache to 64 mb's, It retains the 4070ti's lower cache amount. I'm also wondering if the lower power draw of 285 watts might also be power limited? I recently picked up a Asus 4070 Super with no regrets. Is this on a newer driver or something? Because other content creators showed that their 4070 ti supers were only around 8% faster than 4070ti in most cases. Sometimes only 3-4 fps faster. But here the msi 4070 ti super seems far better .

@@Riikimaru07 no somethings wrong. I saw another german review with this same exact card and the results also show that this one is quite a lot faster. The German review mentioned that the newer bios by msi improved the performance . Seems like there is a bios or driver issue with this card or am I over analyzing.

This is the OC version. Usually the OC is only about 25 MHz faster. This is odd.

Awesome video. I just took your advice and bought the RTX 4080 over the 4070 TI. I paid $1500 for the 4080 (by PNY) on sale which is the same price as the new 4070 TI Super. I was looking forward to the 4070 TI Super but I expected the performance to be closer to the 4080 as opposed to being marginally better than the 4070 TI.

Should have tested using a 7800X3D where the 7900XT is better suited. Something is off with this review as other reviewers are finding the 4070 Ti Super a lot slower than your results for some reason.

Watch more reviews it’s neck and neck in everything really besides COD … it’s within 5-10% plus or minus always in most 1440p test I’ve seen about a toss up considering it uses 40-80 watts less while gaming and you get 2 Nvenc encoders ,DLSS, RTX, Broadcast , DLAA , CUDA , and you get the DLSS frame gen option for gaming at triple a 4k ,,, idk this card slaps honestly its basically a $800 3090ti that uses half the power …

They rolled a first day drivers update, which made this card from astonishingly horrible card, to just garbage. It is approximately 5-6% slower than 7900xt (GN, Daniel Owen, Hardware Unboxed reviews summed up) and, well, it can be considered a deal since you are getting DLSS, and Framegen plus decoder and small AI bonuses with addition of consuming 20-40 watts less. But yet, AMD rolls out FSR 3 + Framegen (Yes, a bit lamer than Nvidia's, still, can be activated in any game whatsoever), has 4 more gigs of Vram, costs 80 dollars less, has SAM technology active if paired with AMD CPUs, larger Bus width (which matters if UE5 games will consume >15 gigs of Vram) and, most importantly, doesnt feature garbage 12pwrh connector which still is a problem.

I bought a $799 USD Zotac 4070 Ti Super 16GB mainly for the extra VRAM over the old Ti and regular 4070/Super. I feel like since I am skipping the next generation of cards, 16GB VRAM would serve me well longer term. My use case is odd though, as I have a Dell Precision T7820 Dual Xeon Gold workstation with 192GB RAM and 950W power supply and I could not get two different manufacturer's RX 7800XT cards to work in my system. I tried clean installing the drivers, bios update and resets, changing the PCIE slots, underclocking the GPU, but both cards would freeze and black screen back to the desktop in 3D applications, games or otherwise. Strangely, I could drop an old Sapphire RX5600XT in it and it was 100% stable? It was unfortunate as the AMD 7800XT really checked most of the requirements for me and was $300 cheaper. Anyhow, yeah, I wanted 16GB VRAM and it had to be Nvidia, so this was it (other than the questionable 4060TI 16GB). I imagine even with the dual Xeon Gold 6140's, that this 4070 Ti Super is CPU bottlenecked, but it runs everything smoothly at 3440x1440 that I play with room to spare. Lastly, a big shout out to Microcenter, who let me exchange those RX cards and find something that worked in my specific system with no hassle.

I currently still have a GTX 1070. I was going to upgrade to this card. Would you still skip this card? I don’t know if I can wait for the 5000 series. I want to play in 1440p, and I feel this card is better than the 4070 Super.

Id say going from a 1070 to a upper mid tier/lower high tier 40 series will be a massive improvement for you, but i believe the 50 series is slated to come out next year. So if thats true then it depends on if u want to spend the $800 now, or wait till next year and get whatever card is prices at that point for the 50 series. Alternatively if u wait for next years cards then the 4070 ti super will def drop in price. If ur like me, “u want more performance and u want it now” type thing then go ahead and grab this card as the 16gb will serve u longer then the 12gb on the 70 super. but if ur a patient person, i would def say to wait to see what next year brings. I sold my 4070 and had some extra $ laying around so i managed to snag a 4070 ti super earlier today, as i need the more vram not just for gaming but for workloads that im getting into.

not a fan of using frame gen that muddies up the real performance i get from my card; the only helpful info are the horizon and tomb raider benchmarks still looking forward to the fedora coverqge tho, wayland was still a PITA with my 3070 recently

8:32 now i understand the difference with the 4070 Ti Super over the 4070 Ti, it's mainly in 4K where we really see the chip, RAM and cores difference really extends beyond the 4070 Ti. Many people have been disappointed with the 4070 Ti Super and understandably 5-10 fps bump average is not encouraging in 1440p which is where the 4070 series is aimed at. So basically, what the 4070 Ti Super does is gives you a taste of 4K gaming. I would have preferred if you do benchmarks without frame generation.

there is a vBIOS issue that in some instances reduces performance by up to 5%, your review should take account of this issue.

I love my XFX 6900xt Limited Black XTXH equipped card. It natively runs at 2550mhz/ 2000 and a quick auto overclock goes to 2750/2250...bought it new for $900 right when cards started to come back in after the card apocalypse ended and paired with my 12700k its a 1440p monster still.

I really want to test it against a 7900xtx just to see the real world differences. I got to run a watercooled Suprim X 4090 for 10days and my God what a beast...sadly my card will sell used for $550ish and the 4090 is still $1800+

It just depends if your a 1080p or 1440p player you should choose rtx 4070ti but if your a 4k gamer then the 7900xt is perfect for you.

Please test raster performance without insane RT, or prioritize that AND test with RT, also pls test without frame gen, upscaling is much more relevant than FG, imo.

@@CuttinInIdaho I did, I don't use upscalers or frame gen, just 1440p native. I have not had a need for those features, they were there to supplement a ray tracing feature that was not ready for mainstream. How many games need raytracing? How many games even look that much better with RT? I'm playing Horizon Forbidden West right now, and visually, it's the best I've ever seen, and there is no RT and no need for any kind of up scaling or frame gen. It's more like we've been gaslit into THINKING we need these features, when what we need is actual 3D raster performance at a decent price point. Holy shit.

You are a vanguard dude…not many out there not using. I will say that DLAA is very nice anti aliasing- like reverse upscaling…but the cost is heavy especially if you use it with RT

And still manages to go less in raster, nvidia is a joke I don't really care about fancy lights, and if I wanted to, the 7900xt still offers performances between a 4070 and 4070 super in that regard, more than enough With both cards you still need either frame gen or dlss/fsr to have a smooth ray tracing experience regardless

It's the OC version. Not the MSRP version. The difference here is around 237MHz in boost clocks. You should probably listen to what I said about the card

@@maliksheba6071 What is funny is how all those other channels are pushing AMD products...very hard. It is well known that AMD's sales strategy is to pay influencers heavily....which is why the entire argument for raster only performance still exists, same with how the influencers try to use FSR on Nvidia cards to be "fair". Yet AMD is down on GPU sales, so it seems the vast majority of people do want the full feature set and not 2019's raster race. How many 6xxx and 7xxx series cards even make a blip on the Steam hardware radar? Though I will say raster is good with the last 3 AMD generations. The money that certain influencers receive would have been better spent building better RT cores and hardware-based AI features instead of open-source software that doesn't add to visual fidelity like DLSS.

Wasting potential on that 7900XT with that 14900K not utilizing its full ReBAR support its being limited to 256MB instead of having access to the entire memory like how it would with an AMD chip. But these benches seem off to begin with the 4070TI Super isnt that fast.

Using Cyberpunk with overdrive is a pretty disingenuous representation of this card to make the 7900xt look worse. Sure Nvidia is better at RT but using such a small sample of games and only Overdrive CP2077 (which is a technology literally only one game has) is not an average representation of the performance of the card.
