For me. The kitchen tap scene means he will never be happy. He turned his head looking for what was causing the sound. It means to me that even though he was now financially back up there, he would never be happy and peaceful again. His crimes would make him paranoid and haunt him forever.

The ending was very unrealistic. Bcoz Lara should certainly have recognized about something being wrong with the spray. No one is so naive considering the circumstances as the spray was given to her persuasively. Anyways post-mortem report of Tomas would also have revealed that the chemical sprayed on Tomas' face contained peanut extract. Plus Marga independently could have told Lara to stay away from Javier even if she didn't choose to go formally to the Police. There are a few other loopholes also.

I found it amazing how Javier (the Tormentor) stood-up in the AA Meeting and spoke-on how a man losing his wife and daughter was all part of his own Mastermind Plot!! The suspense of how Javier was going to get caught keeps viewers on the edge of their seat b/c dude is relentless. Hating the massacre of "Nice Guys Finish' last, this is the perfect precursor for writers to take their time and make a Part-2 with Crafty Snares that will make everyone go back to this one...just to get the thrills and chills on how Part 2 will bring Javier to his knees b/c his Acts and Actions are just too sinister to get away with everything he did!!! Losing his job and not getting recognition for his talents is indeed horrific in reality--but then to envision oneself to living the life of another and swapping families to-the-point of abandoning your own son...HAS CONSEQUENCES...and that's REAL as well as an inescapable form of Reality!!! That ending TRULY PISSED ME OFF!!

Just b/c he threatened that he would hire the best lawyers after exhausted their son's account should've pissed her off even more!!! Given the facts she had along with Tomas's wife, after so much evidence brought to court, his ass would've lost! Plus phone records etc. There are like 12-14 things the writers can do to make an excellent Part 2 of this movie.
@Playbackrm100 Жыл бұрын
@@hallowiegehtesdir5843 I disagree. He's more of a punk-ass who abandoned his family (wife & son) for another man's wife and prestige to live his life!!! As such, they all come to an end. If anything, this movie portrays a few weak minded people. Like, realistically, how would a woman who already argued he was new and indirectly ruining her family turn away from a tall, handsome and stocky dude to a puny wimp and yet never bust him in the lies about his own divorce and gender of his child (claiming he had a daughter)!!~ Clearly she would wanna know why he got a divorce. So make a Part 2 with the Ex-Wife talking to Lara, then make it a few years later with his son losing weight...getting built like Tomas was, catch up with Dad after abandoning him and mom and then beat his Punk-Ass just like Tomas did!! LOL!!

My analysis of the film. [SPOILERS AHEAD]. The ending comes off somewhat unrealistic only because we assume who Javier is solely based on his situation. His anger and frustration seem understandable because unemployment is a common problem that would make anybody confused and helpless, especially a breadwinner. But is this really a movie about a man who needs a job to feel responsible toward his family? The truth is that we only learn who Javier really is as the movie unfolds, so we are kind of tricked into thinking that his situation is the main cause of his behavior, hence why it feels relatable in the beginning. However, the character development he undergoes suggests that he established his life and family through a process of cunning and deceit long before the movie even started. The loss of his job and house is shattering the reality that has been concealing his true nature since he got married, so it's only natural that he reconnects with this side of him once the facade breaks down. Behind the facade, Javier is an idealist in pursuit of a carefully crafted lifestyle that accepts no compromise. We see his vision of the ideal life represented in his work, and he is insulted when it's criticized by the interviewers in the beginning, but we also see it when he refuses to let go of his fancy car, forces his son to lose weight, and occasionally breaks into homes to get his daily dose of this idealism. The dark truth about people obsessed with something to this extent is that it does not matter what they have to lose or sacrifice to have it. Javier was able to let go of his family easily because they only served to preserve the illusion he was living under. Once the illusion was shattered, they had no purpose.

Just watched it and enjoyed it! For people pissed at the ending, don't worry, I don't think it' actually happened. Pay attention to the ending where Javier looks at the dripping faucet just like the crappy one he had in his shitty apartment (which shouldn't happen in a multi-million dollar mansion. I think that's the director's way of telling us the "happy ending" is only happening in Javier's head as he rots in a prison cell with a shitty faucet. Like many people in the comments have said, it makes no sense that the police didn't find the circumstances of the death suspicious, and I think it makes even less sense that the widow Lara would embrace another alcoholic (who is old and not-at-all-good-looking) when she experienced abuses and trauma from the just-deceased ex-alcoholic husband (who was young and handsome). Even if she is so dumb that she doesn't see the arrival of this stranger after which all shit start to go down the drain, why would she (the daughter of a wealthy and influential person) throw herself at this guy who has nothing just because he was "nice"? And also somehow never learns about Javier's divorce with Marga when he marries Lara even though Javier is already supposed to be divorced? So it's all in Javier's head as he is clearly already messed up, dreaming up the life he thinks he "deserves". Doesn't it strike you as odd his new perfect life is an exact replica of his "masterpiece ad" he is most proud of shown in the beginning"
@hazimali77442 жыл бұрын
I think these are just plot holes, which every movie has, not reasons to believe it was all a dream. He wasn't just "dreaming up" the life he imagined in his work, he was actually living that life at the beginning of the movie before they had to move out. The movie, I think, is about him trying to reclaim that life at any cost, even if it means losing his family. Think about it this way, if he really got caught and made up the ending in his head, what was the point of imagining his divorce? what significance does it add to his end goal? If the point was not to get rid of his family, why not imagine a better ending with them included?

Hated the ending, I’m a softy and I like unrealistic endings 🤣 in saying that, I agree the ending was so disliked because it was realistic. We live in an evil world and I wouldn’t be surprised of this scenario happening multiple times all over the world. People are mean, materialistic, and sick. Just like the gardener who wanted the little girls underwear, there’s heaps of sickos like him out there as well. Good movie, great acting, and I was glued and on edge till the very end! I love Mario so I was rooting for him throughout the movie, but yeah, I guess the message here is bad things happen to good people and a lot of the time, bad people get away with it and live happily ever after 👍
