Quite a few years ago, I used a coat hanger to hold up one of my exhaust pipes, just "to get it home", and it worked so well that I never actually "fixed" it. Nothing is as permanent as a temporary fix. Love the car!

Tell us you live in a dry state without telling us...wait. A 300 series stainless pipe clamp can rust out before the warranty up north. Even a brass coat hanger didn't last much, the steel one didn't last through a summer.

Easy thing to mitigate further leg burning on the sliders is to do similar to the heat shield on semi stacks - Could make a nice pattern to match the build cut into them, and stand them off ⅛-¼" from the sliders. Powder coat or paint red to bring back some of the 10ft OEM look. Grindhard plumbing uses hexagons all the time, but this is a parts bin chrysler. Use a pentagon pattern.

In Germany the show was called "Viper" as well (one of the few occasions (others being Knight Rider, Airwolf, Street Hawk and Highwayman, for example) they didn't try to invent a German name for it). The offroad Defender was my favorite conversion as well. I wonder what happened to the modified car they used for filming. From what I read somewhere on the net it was a modified truck chassis (probably the easier way to build an offroad Viper, albeit it only having a V8 going that route).

When I was at auto tech school, we had a prototype Dodge V10 there from the early Viper days. It was when they were still doing testing on stuff, hence the prototype in "punch dots" on the heads. Pretty sure they were aluminum Viper heads on the old truck V10 block. Or they were aluminum versions of the truck heads. Don't remember which. I'd have to find my pics and see what they were. It was back in 2010 so the engine was quite old at that point. Still in great condition, though, as they only used it to take apart and put back together. It was my project for "engine - mechanical" part of the course. It had to spin perfectly when you put it back together so you had to measure clearances, bearing shells, Pistons, rings, etc... It was quite fun.

It’s incredible and inspiring that this was achieved by one person on his own in his garage. While it’s cool the Cybertruck actually got produced as is, it had the world’s richest man with deepest pockets, an entire company behind it, and many years to make happen.

Holy hell! I'm only 30 seconds into the video and I had to like and subscribe. Towing a car with dual sport and complete disregard. My guy! Love it!

I have wanted a viper since I saw the concept car in a magazine in 1989. What you have done to it is so freaking cool. I want a stock one and one like this. I now have a new goal to aim for.

On that frame. Find some magnum steel. It's in a tube just pinch off and mix. I used that stuff to fix a 4in hole in my PTO box on my 18wheeler. I used valley tin and then the mag steel. And it worked great. And I was hauling coal back then and it was when we hauled like 85tons. Yeah that was right before they slapped well deserved laws on us. Great stuff.

This is super cool. Living in northern NV with tons of dirt roads everywhere, this car would be a blast.

Really made my day. This should be shown to every 5 year old aspiring auto designer as an example of yes they can! Those wacky cool shapes can one day be seen driving along the highways and byways of this fair and balanced land🏁!

This looks so good. Most of the leg burning issue can be resolved with high flow cats. Combined with the heat wrap and it'll be perfectly fine to touch your leg to it. Maybe.

Awesome work! In some videos you just think, there is so much work to do, and so much hurdles to take. And now you've got this thing on the road in a year, which I think is great.

Super awesome build and build idea ! To the people that don't like this build... If Miatas have monster off-road mods, then the Viper deserves a monster version too. Awesome to see this realized ! Now we need to see a Monster Suzuki Cappuccino...
