Nicely done and incredibly easy to follow your thought plan. I'm at the finishing stage of a liquor cabinet and will copy your wine rack for one side. Thanks for the ideas.

Great design. It looks like you're using stock 1x6 pine which is basically 3/4 inch. Just noticed that you show the spacer drawing as 3-1/2 inches, while it should be 3-3/4

Thanks! Correct, 1" stock that is 3/4" finished thickness.

If the wine bottle is symmetrical, why the difference between vertical and horizonal heights for the bottle ?

It's to account for the material used for the rungs.

Hi man, great video ….i have a customer that wants one in his basement closet..similar to your design however the closet is just drywall and I’m having a hard time figuring out how to attach this design to the drywall without the weight causing a collapse….im almost settling on the customer to sign a waiver….whats your thoughts
@old.fashion.nights

Thanks. Without seeing the area waiver would be your best bet. Maybe look at designing a bracket and making sure you connect to studs on other side of drywall.

Good design and an excellent instructional video...I've watched 5 or 6 DIY wine racks vids and yours is by far the most helpful. Would you mind sharing what software you used for your initial drawing with dimensions? Thanks

Appreciate the kind words. I used SketchUp 2017. Nice piece of software and plenty of instructionals on KZfaq.

Excellent video, thanks for the thorough walkthrough. Can you provide the name of the program you are using in the beginning of the video (where you show the dimensions)?

Great design but wearing long sleeves on an open blade made me cringe. Best safety is no gloves, no sleeves and no hoodie strings or ties.

Thanks for the advice. Generally I only wear short sleeves for cutting but since this was my first video, I decided to look more formal. Nevertheless you are correct in proper attire.

Would be comfortable sharing what you paid for the timber in this project? I am making a very small one for my daughter's house that is space constricted and there was room for a single vertical rack containing 6, yes *six* bottles. I was looking at using square supports like you have for the bottles to lay on but the price of wood here in Australia is bloody nuts and just for those pieces it was going to cost me AUD$26.40. My frame and top was made with plywood that I managed to pick up really cheap for here with a 2400mm x 1200mm x 17mm (approx 8' x 4' x 5/8" in your size) for AUD$52 which is usually around AUD$95 plus so I was really curious as to your cost. I would guess for me to purchase what you used here I would be looking at around AUD$250+ which is crazy and I am baulking at the AUD$26.40 for the bottle _rails._ 😲 Interesting video and *Thank You* for sharing. 👍 I hope you greatly enjoy the use. 😵‍💫🥴

I would say for just the lumber on the entire project, I paid probably a little over $120 (US). I found it more cost effective to buy larger pieces and cut it down to what I needed. For the bottle supports (I call them rungs in the video) I bought 6' long, 6" wide pieces of 3/4" pine (~$6.50 for a 6' x 6" board). I cut the 6' board in 11-3/4" segments. Then I ripped those segments into the 3/4" bottle supports. Thanks for your support. The wine rack is looking empty right now as I have been enjoying more bottles than I care to admit! 😁 But it does a great job of storing them!

love the simplicity you provided here- However. I find your measurements very hard to understand. I grew up in metric so trying to understand your measurements. Is it 32 subtract a 1/4 multiply by 1 subtract 1/2 inch two times? Also what are the legs and what are the uprights. Sorry my English is relatively good but for the love of Odin, just cannot follow this clearly.

Simple as hell just multiply by .03937 anyone can do it. There just numbers not magic.

What you're referencing are the dimensions. 32"-1/4" x 1"-1/2" is another way of saying 32.25" length by 1.5" height.
