Not sure if you know about it, but you can use the combo recipe feature to record a set of moves and have them display like a mission mode combo. I think this feature can really be used to improve the presentation of teaching videos like this one.

@@coldbacon4869 While numpad notation does help, combo recipes do help with understanding inputs and timing. Now, I can see why sajam excluded combo recipes and I don't blame him. But Combo recipes can help in showing new players not just the directions, but also the general timing for a lot of these combos.

@@MokonaModokiES I think you guys are conflating versatile tools for broken buttons. Your normals don't have to be broken to have a lot of options. They just have to have good enough frames so that you can get options like Sol's 5k/5p to any of his command normals. So that said if he still has inputs that do stupid damage, they should nerf those moves to do less damage.

I never though about using GF Feint to reduce the time on 6S and 2HS and do Fafnir faster. Im definitely adding that to my gameplay, thanks Sajam.

@@Gankstomper You misunderstand, this is a BnB combo video for Sol. In every other game prior, wild throw was a combo starter. I was just saying it was sad to not see Wild Throw in a combo video for Sol. Idk where you got the idea I was complaining or if you just want to start some conflict just for the sake of conflict, but if I were to complain, it would be that every other character didn't get buffed.

I can't figure out how to do the combos that involve doing 5k into the two j5d. I either get one and the second one whiffs horribly, doesn't come out at all or I don't even get the height for the first one. Wall bounce combos seems incredibly inconsistent in this game Edit: in the combo that starts at 1:28 I do the combo exactly ask shown but I don't get the wall break.

I had a lot of fun performing those combos. There are some modifications that slightly modified the original ones to do more damage. 0:43 AA K jK adc jK 626H (Volcanic Viper with clean hit) You need some practice to achieve clean hit but it's not that bad. I realized I'm too lazy to continue the message ;)

This is much appreciated. How would you recommend going about digesting this video as a beginner? Would you recommend learning one combo at a time or should someone learn a few of the earlier ones with different starters so their combo game is more flexible when going into a match? (Considering the second option so I don't fish for one button in neutral.)

I would try and learn the first few and add RC extensions when you get better at confirming your hits. The mission mode of the game is a great place to start with any character.

What I am doing as a new Sol player is learning 1 combo for each button I find myself using in neutral: -a 5K ground combo -a f.S combo -a 5K antiair combo I'll upgrade these with RC versions once I am comfortable with doing the meterless versions

first corner combo doesnt work for me j.d doesnt connect for me if i jump straight up. if i jump diagonal to the right i conect the first one but on landing i cant do the second one even if i mash. was it nerfed ?

dashing before the close slash makes it easier, without dashing it's still possible but the timing seems even tighter

Combo at 1:44 doesn't need to be RRC down specifically. Can just be RRC. Might have to delay the 2h/Gunflame to catch, but its a bit easier. (Tested on Nago/Ky so far.)

0:39 this doesn't seem to work on the release version? The 2S knocks them out of the range of the 2H edit figured it out, you have to be running in to get the forward momentum, can't just do it from neutral side note you can get 1:17 without the run in, just gotta time your HS's real good MUCH LATER EDIT, IT'S ALSO CHARACTER SPECIFIC

Ah yes the classic GG combo, the Sol dustloop. You gotta be quick and hit the first jump dust as soon as you get airborne, then hit the other on the way down. Timing can be tight but dust loops are fun especially in Xrd.

I’m having a similar problem, so although it does less damage a modified version of the combo I figured out was slash, heavy slash, kick, foreward slash into foreward heavy slash. Again less damage but I’ve been able to pull it off a lot more consistently than the 2 dustloops

Probably necessary as you can't cancel into Fafnir. If recovery of your normal is really long a gatling into gunflame(feint) probably allows you to act again sooner.

It could also be a timing thing similar to how players will use certain attacks to time when they can hit someone after a stun in sfv.

For the corner dust loops, I find it to be really inconsistent for me to get the second j.D to connect. Do you have any tips as to what I'm missing? I can get it sometimes, but I'm not really sure what I'm doing different on the timing (I'm trying the combo @ 0:51)

It's much easier on a ch c.s tbh, wouldn't reccomed using this combo on a normal hit as the timing is too tight and basically only works on ky when it's not ch

Noob question, what does the xx in the notation mean? Edit 1: I googled it, and apparently it means "special cancel". But I don't know what that is either 🙈. Edit 2: Apparently it is just when you input the move before the last one has finished. The second Sol combo trial in mission mode requires a special cancellation at the end. I honestly thought that you always were supposed to input the moves right away but this explains why I never consistently am able to do a combo.

I’ve found that timing it when the character bounces off the wall has been pretty consistent at least for me.

I don't know if this applies to strive but normally feint gunflame builds a bit of meter so that might be the reason.

@@freezeframe3533 Yeah but if you look at the bar during tihs vid it doesnt build any. Probably after rc, instead of gaining bar at a reduced rate you get no bar at all in strive.

as with previous GG's, the timing on dustloops is pretty tight, the trick is to hit D as soon as you make that first jump, so you can still get the second D in as you're falling

Make sure you're using the ky dummy. The combo is character specific so depending on your opponent you won't have enough time to do the second dust.

Hey just bought the game yesterday. Could it be that some combos dont work anymore like this: 0:33 (midscreen 5S starter) 5SH xx 236K or like this: 0:51 (corner c.S starter) c.S, 5H, 5K, j.D, j.D, dash 5K6S xx 214P, 41236H (the double j.D doesnt work for me) . My opponent get far soft knockdowned if you can say so and I am not able to get him with 236K. Thanks in advance :) So far very nice for learning combos especially when you come from Streetfighter :)

You might be doing close S (cS) instead of far S (fS). Sol does fS with his non-striking hand above his head, pause the video at 0:33 to see it.

You need dash momentum to make it consistent. You can do it without but it's really really tight.

My guess Is that canceling feint into fafnir is the only thing quick enough to actually get it into the combo
