If given the choice between the Old Mill or the Pottery House Cafe, I (Brent) would still prefer the Old Mill restauarant. I enjoy the history and selection of food there over the Cafe but the food was still very good at the Pottery House Cafe and we’ve already talked about trying it again for brunch. If you end up giving it a second try, let us know what you think.

Yes, I grew up in southwest Ohio, so we would frequent the Der Dutchler (later named the Der Dutchman) many times. Sadly, I believe that the restaurant caught on fire and they never re-opened it.

@@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV I heard about that fire long ago. We have a restaurant down in Walnut Creek ( Amish Country) , of the same name. I wondered if it was the same people or someone different ? They sure have good food down there in Amish country. I don’t think you could find a bad restaurant if you tried.

@@Julie-ms9ss Do you live in Ohio? I just looked up some of the other Der Dutchman’s and they seem to appear to be the same chain as the one that was in Waynesville, Ohio. My grandparents used to frequently visit Holmes County years ago and would always bring back some great baked goods. We’ll be in Ohio next month to film some videos and in the fall, we’ll be in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to film some various Amish restaurants and farms. Have a great evening.

@@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV Yes , I’ve been here all my life. We live near Holmes County , but haven’t been there in quite awhile. They certainly have good restaurants. You should find lots of good places to do videos of in this area. Do you follow J&B in the Hills ? They’ve done a few in Ohio Amish Country , but more near Lancaster. I think that might be closer for them. It’d be neat if you could do a meet up with them.

Hi Larry! Yes - I grew up going to the Der Dutchler and went a few times during the years that it was renamed the Der Dutchman. The Sauerkraut Festival was a must in Waynesville too. I really miss the great food from the Der Dutchman. That's awesome that you guys are just north of Waynesville. I grew up close to Wilmington near a small town called, Sabina.
