I nearly rubbed my eyes through my skull before realising that my eyes weren't fudged but that the screen was just going old timey grey. But I'll tell you what, I may be from the mid 90's, but the 60's were the best, I remember it like it was yesterday. Quality.

Rewatching this, I just caught that right before the sketch ends, the sound is the sound my dad's old film projector used to make at the end of a reel. Just missing the FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP of the loose end of film as it slaps the machine, going round and round:-D Oh, man, did that take me back.

When I started work in a law firm in Paris over 40 years ago, when you had to send an urgent document to a client for signature in another area of Paris you would take the typed document to the post office, which would then roll up the document, put it in a screwed metal tin, then place it in a huge pneumatic tube which was then relayed through an underground system to the nearest post office of the client ! Or sometimes I would have to take the document myself (by metro or bus) then bring the signed one back!

Kids nowadays will never know the thrill when a casette tape gets jammed and you need to use a pencil to fix it! (Inevitably when you're in a hurry for a family gathering!) or VHS not being rewinded, libraries I think even started charging people who didn't do it, lol.

As a 1990s child who grew up without electricity and running water and had an outhouse. I know you can survive and live your life. But it's nice to have running water that's not you running to a well bucket. We weren't the Amish just my parents house burnt down and they had to move into the grandparents old house that needed repairs and the windmill fell over and they didn't have the money to fix things or update. When we got electricity we used the old 1950s TV because it worked. And I played with my dad's old toys. Which I know exactly what year he got them since it was in his photos. So not pristine toys in our family. I played with marbles older then dad and learned how to throw a top with the string and all that stuff and read old comic books that frustratingly I couldn't get a copy of the unfinished storyline because it was old. It was a fun childhood we even got my mom's old clothes from my grandma so that was interesting. Especially since some of them where older then she was. I remember some clothes that I just adored that my great great grandma made an only to find out that they where made in the native American way. My mom just said they where dancing clothes.
@orchdork7752 жыл бұрын
That honestly sounds like an incredible childhood. Not a lot of people these days get to experience that way of life, and I'm sure it has given you a lot of skills that most people don't have, along with a unique perspective on life.

Would have been cool too if the dialogue faded out in favor of old timey piano and written subtitles like the old silent films :)

The problem with Mp3 is that it's that is compressed af, not that it's a digital source of audio. If you listen to lossless formats from good recordings there's no issue at all, but yeah: to listen to a concert live it's a complete different thing.
