It was 20°C when I left SC, I forgot one bag that just happened to have my coat, gloves, and medications in it. Needless to say, it's fuckin freezing. Sadly, I've not been able to see many sights because of my back injury. I can only walk a short distance before the pain in my back makes it impossible to go forward. American here, we do have tea but it is sweet iced tea which is a very Southern thing. Hot tea is more common in the winter but not as common as coffee.

I live in the American South and yes we have tea. In Spring, Summer, Fall and sometimes in Winter it's so hot we drink it sweet with ice. Iced tea! On a few cold days we have it hot...

As someone from Wisconsin USA, trust me when I say I believe you that it's cold and I know what cold feels like, as on Saturday it will be a high of 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-15 Celsius) and a low of -3 degrees (-19 Celsius) and that's not even all that cold for a Wisconsin winter. We get lower than that regularly. And to answer your question, yes tea exists here in the US and plenty of people drink it (both hot and cold), but it isn't as big of a thing as in the UK.

I am an American viewer and, yes, I do drink tea. I drink caffeine-free herbal tea because of my religious beliefs. I am about 40% from the UK, Ireland, etc. I spent the day in a freezing cold office and I was helping pick up the mail from our local post office.
