One thing not mentioned in this feature was that the sign saying 66.6 km was indicating the distance to the Dutch town of Ommen. This is what John Richardson reportedly saw when he awoke from unconsciousness, his girlfriend having been decapitated by a car tyre. I don't know how bizarre coincidences have to be for people to see that they do sometimes have meaning.

The first time I saw the omen, I had a bad dream and after that woke up too fast that I had sleep paralysis and heard something like a plastic bag crawling on me. Only to wake up and see nothing there.

I find this story very similar to what happened during the shooting of "The Exorcist." When Richard Donner tried to get Gregory Peck to do the film, he convinced him that what happened to his character was nothing more than "coincidence," just to get him to do it, because Peck didn't want to do a "horror movie." It was a brilliant ploy to get him to sign on, because it worked.

Absolute classic, the screenplay was brilliantly written. They're all gone now, apart from David Seltzer.

Why aren't romantic comedies ever cursed?

Too many weird , negative occurrences to be mere coincidence! From what I've heard, strange things happened during the filming of "Rosemary's Baby," "The Exorcist," "Poltergeist," and "The Devil's Rain" as well! There was a definite, unknown 'force' haunting the production of each of these films! A series of warnings that were ignored or not heeded by the foolish people involved with their conception! For someone to believe that the 'cast out angel' doesn't exist is to believe in self-inflicted stupidity!

I think , the devil was at work in these misfortunes .

And I thought The Poltergeist was cursed because they used real corpses. But wow, I was a believer before but damn this just solidified my beliefs

Satan didn't want this film to be shot because it turned people away from the devil and towards God. It definitely made me want to be closer to God knowing how evil Satan can be.

I screamed, he pulled over and I took over driving home. We may have had a head on collision. As I drove home, I felt that me seeing these signs over and over, kept the subject in my mind long enough so that I would turn to my husband, to discuss the 'signs' at that critical moment.

I don't know if this is coincidental but I became EXTREMELY ill the day after I saw The Omen for the first time.

The weird things and terrible tragedies that happened with this film, and even with the Orginal Exorcist along with Poltergiest. Personally i wouldn't say coincidence. Call the Winchesters or Ghostbusters or John Constantine.

I personally don't believe in coincidences. I believe in paying attention to signs that appear in your life - good or bad - if they stand out to you and seem extraordinary, then they most likely are. What people do not know about this. Is that, when you do such a film, those in hollywood would be practising dark arts, to project into the film. You can be sure the hollywood people believe in this stuff, and they must of loved the stuff around the film. So the public, whom do not know about what hollywood do, think its just innocent. No, lots go on to project stuff into a film, that most do not know about.

No such thing as a coincidence. I think another "coincidence" was the way William Holden died in the "Damien Omen 2" movie. He died the same way in real life: fell back and hit head on table.

I think 1:03 part should have been put last to explain the psychology of events during filming. It would have let the whole video be creepy up until that being the final explanation.

Talk about creepy coincidence as well Jerry Goldsmith did the music score for this film as well as the Poltergeist moives another cursed trilogy with many deaths associated with it.

Richard Donner really baffles me. On one hand, here's a director who gave us a masterpiece of horror, while bringing the realities of Biblical prophecy to horrific life. And yet, he looks at everything in the film as being a "coincidence"? Donner even points out Peck's character as the ultimate loon, murdering an "innocent" child??? I suppose the nanny who hanged herself was a coincidence. The 3 sixes birthmark, the mother being a jackal, Mrs. Baylock, the beheading, the impalement, the animals at the safari, being born on 6-6 at 6am. "Everyone" dead except that little "innocent" child by the end of the film. I mean, c'mon Donner. Coincidence my ass!

How is Richard Donner capable of being so nonchalant about this? If this were a comedy, drama, western, whatever...this would still be the most outrageously unlucky production ever. That being said, I'd say some religious fundamentalists hexed the movie.

Good video, but so much of this is debatable. Were the businessmen on the chartered flight Japanese or Chinese? Refreshing to hear that they were not all killed. Injured and taken to a local hospital to be examined, but not killed. The cause of the accident was likely because a safety mechanism had reportedly been shut off by the pilot. Had it been on, the plane would likely had not been cleared for take-off. Tragically, a woman and five children were killed when the plane (not using its brakes) crashed into one or two cars on the roadway beyond the fence, completely destroying one of the cars. Liz Moore was so much more than Richardson’s fiancée or girlfriend or assistant. She was a highly successful sculptor. Richardson collided head on with another vehicle (it was his fault). A tire severed Liz’s body (tire was rammed through the passenger chassis). The 66.6 kilometer sign is heavily disputed by Liz’s own son. The town of Ommen was somewhere in the vicinity, but it is a possibility that Richardson, in his shocked state, passed by Ommen and a sign that had zeroes that resembled sixes while receiving emergency medical care en route to hospital. A young man was killed while tending a tiger. No lions were involved. Thank you to Liz for sculpting C-3PO and the stormtroopers’ helmets. Rest in powerful peace well deserved and to the young man who lost his life at only age 22 or 23 while working for a living.

A matter of fact: A fiction novel is only nonfiction or fact that hasn't happened yet. The Antichrist is inspired by fact. There is a reason for this movie to be cursed or whatever strange/unusual things that were said to take place. Eventually similar events will probably take place whenever the actual or real Antichrist arises or arrives. More and more strange or unusual things will take place in some form out there.

The devil liked that this movie was made. She is the movies first fan and was making that fact known by adding to the drama of it. Guess it inspired Her. I say, "Her" because it is my belief that Satan is female. Know where I got that idea from? Honest to god: this movie. The devotion the two nannies showed to Damien, so impressed me_ especially the second one, who's Peck's character had to battle to the death, to get the child away from her_ that by the end of the film, the thought occurred to me, what if the devil is female? That was all it took. 30 years later, still female. So you can add that to the list of odd things surrounding this film.
