I also liked that they showed how motherly Natasha was towards her sister. A women can be both strong and a mother they aren’t separate like I feel like a lot of people say

went into this movie with such low expectations and got humbled really quickly. The "little girls are the most expandable resource" line haunts me to this day. loved how you didn't shy away from speaking about the main topic of the movie, human trafficking, cause I've seen a lot of other people doing it.

While I loved "Black Widow", it probably should have come out before "Endgame", since it didn't feel like a send off for Natasha. However, I loved Nat's sisterly relationship with Yelena, and hope that Florence returns in the MCU soon! 🖤

I hate the nitpicky marvel bros that hate this movie just to hate it. It had such a new and fresh and more adult feel and had my eyes glued the whole time. Loved the cast. Loved that we got to see what made her her, and not just “sexy assassin” from the first avengers. I loved your whole commentary on this and I agree with everything you’ve said!! 💖

One of my (many) favorite things in "Black Widow" is all the parallels-they're so satisfying, dude-and heartbreaking! Yelena's "we're both upside down" at the end of the movie, making it feel like a sort of full circle moment. Then the cutscene itself... The whistling-no one whistles back. The forehead touch to Nat's gravestone... I was in tears, yo! There were a lot of others, as well-just can't remember them right now, lol. But callbacks like that throughout a film are so good. I love it and this whole movie in its entirety, haha

Florence Pugh is my favourite actress atm, loved her in Midsommar and Fighting with my Family, and loved her charisma in this. Manifesting Anya Taylor-Joy and Florence Pugh co-starring in something together, they're both so freaking talented.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only who loved the movie. I’ve seen so much negativity about the film, and I just don’t get it. It was such an amazing movie. Natasha was finally able to get her chance to shine, her relationship with Yelena was so sweet and felt a lot like the relationship between my sister and I, and the family dynamic was really interesting. The theme of human trafficking was such an important topic to cover, and it was done really well. Not to mention the opening sequence, which was so haunting and heartbreaking, and had me tearing up. It’s definitely one of the best Marvel movies out there.

I remember watching this movie when it came out, the opening scene made me tear up because of how human trafficking is thing to this day and because of that Natasha is one of my favorite Marvel hero. My only complaint of this movie was Natasha and Yelenda both forgiven their fake father for selling them into human trafficking. This movie is so beautifully shot that I wish that this movie could have raised money for human trafficking. 🖤❤

4:18 YES. I feel like no one is talking about how weird it was that they became a loving family so suddenly. I felt so uncomfortable at the dinner table scene, like we as an audience shouldn’t accept that after what alexi did.

The artistry delivered by a top company like Disney was something the film industry needed 100% and I don't just mean the MCU. It wasn't perfect, and I know a lot of people aren't going to love it as much as me, but the movie was so raw in a way most superhero movies are not. I love the avengers but half the movie is just guys flexing muscles and money and trying to fight for dominance. Also, the opening credits were so good I literally cried.

I really enjoyed Black Widow as a man. I feel like I need to say that because it seems like online a bunch of guys are bashing it for “ruining Taskmaster” but I am seeing good reception from both sides and it’s honestly so refreshing to see a POWERFUL woman in a lead role!

Black Widow is EASILY one of my top 3 Marvel films. I saw it at the cinema with my grandma and we were both blown away by how good it was. Natasha is my favourite female Marvel character and I’m so glad she got the film she deserved 🤓

I loved Black Widow and I'm annoyed at myself for taking longer to watch it because of some bad reviews I'd heard. It definitely needed to happen years ago, but overall I think it's more mature and focused on issues that some (often men) reviewers don't fully understand the gravity of. I watched it with a female friend - we both thought it was great. Definitely agree about the line about girls being expandable and the taskmaster.

I started watching, thinking “spoilers... I won’t see this movie anyway” but 3 minutes in and I’m like -pause- “I’m gonna stop watching now and go see this movie”. So sorry about the watch time, but I’ll be back after I watch this thing.

12:39 Wow, this genuinely changed my perspective on that decision. I always just thought it was a tragic killing off before her character found the peace she deserved, but your point re-contextualizes it into exactly that. (Hawkeye BETTER be grieving in his show though, if they don't address it at all I'm gonna throw __hands__. )

Agreed on the respect aspect with the lawsuit. For instance I saw it in theaters once, I loved it immensely. Bought the Premier Access on Disney plus (Signed up for Disney plus because I did not have it yet) and proceeded to watch the movie 4 more times because I could show it to various friends and family members. It was everything a Black Widow movie was supposed to be and more. BBC said Scarlet lost like $50 million because of the streaming with Disney plus. She gets a percentage on the ticket sales and those went down (in my case 4 to 1) because they offered it on streaming. 😳 Sorry Scarlet - we love you.

The girls weren’t Alexei’s to give or sell. I don’t think either of the adults had a choice honestly. We see how easily they found Yelena and Nat once they crossed the Red Room. They would’ve been on the run forever and he clearly wanted to go back himself. Not that it makes it the right choice but their options were most likely death or going back.

I agree about the lawsuit. If Disney can screw over someone like Scarlett how are they treating other employees and those they have contracts with? Scarletts started a movement that will hopefully protect the future stars of the MCU (and have Disney second guessing how they treat their employees, maybe, we can hope).

Unfortunately as a Russian immigrant I struggled to enjoy this movie and see the important aspects of it cuz of the continued stereotyping of Russians as the enemy and as evil (if you look for it, it's prevalent in all American media. Look at children's cartoons, the antagonists are usually Russian gangsters and/or POC). Also...marvel has millions of dollars in budget. Could they really not hire a single person to teach the actors how to properly pronounce words in Russian? Or like? Use Google translate? Honestly some of the worst accent/translation I've ever heard. It really pulled me out of the movie.
