This is one of the most ambitious tries to get a live adaption right. But at the same time it's also one of the hardest manga to adapt. Many fans think that this teaser (!) trailer looks promising if you don't look for a 1:1 retelling (which would be an automatic fail). There are things that are changed for live action - i.e. they get rid of a very long nose and some twirly eyebrows - but this things don't really define the characters. The anime has its own flaws so I appreciate a rather faithful retelling of the story with a few surprises. I don't expect the usual missteps because the original author was heavily involved and the showrunner (a massive One Piece nerd) was carefully selected by him. Every change I know of until now makes sense and even fills some gaps in the manga.
