Chelsea’s January seems built around the assumption that they’ll get Osimhen in the summer so maybe an attempt at a loan move for Wilson would be the smarter choice, however unlikely. The issue would become that going into next season there literally isn’t a place for him in the squad. As well as that, judging by Wilson’s injuries he might end up in a full body cast by week one.

When I saw this, I was like “yes he’s great and adds experience” then I remembered that he’s probably joining James and Chilwel on players who can’t be fit for the season, especially if he’s our starting 9. If we can have Wilson with an injury free run until the end of the season that would be great, I just don’t know if it will work out for us 💙

Reading between the lines it seems fairly obvious that Osimhen's in the bag for the summer so any striker bought now would be a six month investment. Minimum requirement for that would be a player who can be counted on to stay fit so Wilson's a non-starter before getting into if it would be smart or not.

@@duyanhng8430 Agreed, but one thing I can't throw at these fackless owners it's failing to acquire their main targets, if we want him & Osimhen's interested, you have to assume it'll happen. I'm not convinced about him personally. Don't like his attitude & high profile striker signings at Chelsea tend to fall below expectations (to put it mildly).

I’m not sure how I feel about this deal. I hear it and in theory it’s perfect. We create loads but don’t score. Wilson scores when he’s created for. The logic is there. But there are issues. The first glaring one is the fitness issues. We already have too many injury prone players. Having our goal scoring become reliant upon an injury prone player, with our medical department, means the issue isn’t ACTUALLY fixed. The second is that I think people just underestimate how often our attacking game plan relies on Nico receiving the ball, holding off his marker, running into the space and passing it off. That’s how we get up the pitch. You look at our creation with Jackson and with Broja and it just looks so much more toothless. Can Wilson do that hold up? 3rd is that we’re going to go for a long term option in the summer up top. We’re gunning for Osimhen. I would rather have Nico as our back up for the long term than Wilson for another year that leaves Jackson with no game time. I just think any time the words “short term” pop up for Chelsea they need to be avoided. We either need to 100% commit to long term gain short term pain or scrap the plan. It’s too late to scrap the plan. We need to just stick to a cohesive transfer strategy

Jackson is a good player is over performing imo. It's his first year and he has already equalled Havertz's goal tally from last season. I agree though thet he does need to improve in certain areas.

If Chelsea wants to pay anything close to £20m for him, I think most Newcastle fans would snap your hands off, when fit he's a great goalscorer and powerful centre forward, but that only makes up about 30% of the season on average, he also has a horrific fitness issue where it seems to take him at least another month before he ever looked close match fit and at that point would just end up breaking down with another muscle injury.

No the main reason Chelsea won't and shouldn't sign Callum Wilson is his injury record and history. We already have a lot of players out injured why get another who would spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.

1 thing almost everybody forgot is his injury problem, even now he is on calf injury, not to say his hamstring. well he is a good striker but at least show some honesty in it by telling about his injury. everybody seems like selling and forcing him out that they only talks about his positives.

He is fragile but if he could keep fit until summer it could be the answer. Except Chelsea apparently have Dr. Crippen on the medical staff and must run bare foot over concrete during training! Seriously, the amount of players injured in training and coming back from injury is mental. Wilson would probably last a week then be out for the rest of the season still he'd have loads of company.

Also, I can't wait for the day when somebody tells the Chelsea Cowboy that unless your team is winning things, all your players will depreciate in value. No way they're going to make a profit on the ludicrous money spent on Caicedo or Mudryk unless Chelsea are winning league titles. They're going to hit that Man United deadwood storage problem real hard.

While agree with both of you, just this passed summer they sold 2 players after finishing mid table and still getting good fees (Havertz and Mount). I think the ownership is not going to be happy being mid table after this season.

@@dyoutube439 mount did decent before tho and won like chelsea player of the szn or sumthin and he showed glimpses of being pretty good... whilst havertz always showed up once every like 10 matches ... im pretty sure that for both players only 1 team was actually prepared to buy them... mount asked for insanely high wages that he didnt rlly deserve and then united was the only team that wanted to pay them... and then arsenal was the only team that wanted to pay a fee we were willing to accept so it seems that both were kinda luck based... also im pretty sure we may of lost money on havertz... i still dont see how we can make a profit on players like enzo and caicedo but players like badiashile i could see being sold for a profit

And while they got decent money for Mount, you're always going to get decent money for a still relatively young, england international, going to a rival club. If United had been a little smarter they'd have just waited and got him for free. Seems to me like the "make profit on young players" thing is actually them trying to increase the value of the club so they can sell it on in a few years. Again, good luck with that unless they start winning trophies (plural).

Jackson slander is so tired and boring. 7 league goals in half a season, at 22, in a shit side, finishing at a better clip than Nunez (similar age, cost more than twice as much, more experience, worse in general play). That's a decent return. They were never getting an elite striker last summer, because of no Europe. Not even to mention Hojlund, another player who cost twice as much, who doesn't get chances because he just stands there being a big lump. Ridiculous how much unwarranted stick Jackson gets.

I like your analysis, its mostly accurate compared to many channels I've seen. But you never talk about what Chelsea do good. The past few games chelsea played well. Even in games where they lost or drew, the past ten games are worth analysing. But i guess you have to ride the trend of talking negativily about Chelsea so that you don't compromise viewership on your channel.
