It's amazing how people cut these corners to 'save time' but when stopped and told to go back, they put their ego and pride first to make some sort of point. Literally just reversing and rejoining the queue in the CORRECT lane would have taken 2-3 mins.

@@TheBullethead1988 Pride is just a big thing honestly. It's like when people do a disconnect glitch on FIFA, whoever leaves the game first loses the match. You could just leave, give them the win and get on with it, but some people will sit there for hours, even days, until the other quits.

Spot on! A while ago I was 3/4 of the way down a narrow road when another driver came around the corner and blocked my path. She indicated for me to reverse. I didn't. The passenger eventually got out the car and said that she couldn't. She said, "you know women drivers", tried to be jovial about it. I said it was absolutely ridiculous and that the driver should have waited to see that the path was clear before proceeding and so I refused to move. The passenger got irate and went back to their car. I turned off the ignition and sat there. It was probably only 2 or 3 mins. I knew I would have to reverse as she was incapable. So I reverse and I see big smiles. But I don't go all the way, I stop just before it gets wide enough for her to pass. I switch off the ignition and get my slr from the back seat and take a few snaps. The red mist descended again from the passenger. 😁 The End.

There's one other similar location that I visit occasionally, but this road I come to because my friends cycle around this park and come the other way to these wrong side drivers. They are put at risk by this sort of driving.

Thing is I'm only one man, and I can deal with only one driver at a time. I did report the phone filming driver who went past on the pavement, but the police NFA'd it. I'm happy to focus on the most dangerous road users here, being the drivers who go the wrong way.

She only got a driver's awareness course, which was cancelled due to covid, so basically she got away with it.

Lots of what are considered minor prosecutions were dropped due to covid to reduce the court backlog

I think the police now give the person the option to either take a awareness course, fixed penalty notice or go to court. Think if the person already had to go to an awareness course in the last 2-3 years they have to be given the fixed penalty notice
