I still use my Mass journal, Father! I feel that it helps beyond measure with receptivity, not to mention how beneficial it is for me to read over those seeing different points on my spiritual journey, sometimes putting me right back into my mindset of where I was at that particular Mass. So grateful!

😥😢 Guilty as sin 🫢, Fr Meyer. I've partaken in Mass over Xmas & Easter(sometimes) only on TV - else haven't attended Mass for decades - although, during lockdown, I popped Into church building & by chance realised there was a Mass in polish in progress there were about 6 people present including myself. I mentally & spiritually prepared myself to receive the sacraments having never taken the host in my hand before. This polish priest insisted I take it in my hands - after racing through the Mass at 100 miles an hour (i'm in uk) . I've never been to partake in Mass since although I do pop in for 5-10 mins to greet The Lord in His Earthly house. What now? Will I be rejected by The Lord Jesus Christ? Xx

I was also away from the church for an extended period of time, only going on holidays, if that. I've lost respect for priests in the past which did contribute to that time away. However, I've joined a parish, I'm active again and it's WAY better now that I've realized what I'd been missing. Don't let an unfortunate incident with one priest keep you from coming back to the Mass. Try Mass at a different parish. If that's the only parish within 200km of you, don't allow that to stop you from experiencing the sacrifice and celebration of the Mass, even if that Mass is less than inspiring. If Mass is over too quickly, stay after for a while in silent prayer. Spend some of that time praying for the priest. The graces you receive from attending Mass aren't determined by the priest, but by your being there.
