When the ill will of others harm us and pierce our hearts, our hearts too can become ill, especially if this happens to us when we are vulnerable like in childhood. Some people manage not to take the harm done to them to heart. I suppose taking bad things to heart and letting them deeply effect us depends on the degree of harm done, how intimate one is with the one doing the harm, and the underlying disposition of the one being harmed. Thus, children severely harmed by their own parents take it to heart more than an adult of sound mind would take little harm done by a stranger. The greater the harm done, the more intimate the relationship, and the more emotionally unstable the one harmed, the more likely the one harmed will take it to heart, feel their heart pierced, or receive a broken heart for it. When people do take bad things to heart and their heart becomes ill and hurting, why do some people respond with ill will towards others or towards themselves and hurt others or further hurt themselves, whereas some people keep the hurt to themselves without hurting others or themselves any further? Is it because they have different underlying dispositions? Can the hurt done to us make us poor in spirit instead of depressed in spirit? Can the hurt done to us make us poor in spirit instead of angry in spirit? There seems to be two different types of ill hearts. One type of ill heart aches, experiences sorrow, and might get depressed, but doesn't have ill will because of the harm done. Another type of ill heart does become ill willed and further hurts others. The sickness in the soul turns evil. I like to think that for every physical healing Jesus did a corresponding ailment in the soul was also healed. There are lameness, blindness, deafness, and leprosy of the soul besides of the body. These poor souls were ill, but not necessarily evil. Jesus also healed demon possessed souls who were evil. He can heal the two types of ill hearts, ie, those with sorrowful souls and those with ill wills. In either case, the soul can be saved. Forgiveness helps both the one hurt besides the one who did the harm. It's healing.

➔ All the following Catholic things that Protestants attack as "evil" or "un-biblical" are IN THE BIBLE: (And many other things as well) ➔ INTERCESSION OF MARY & THE SAINTS, ➔ CARVED IMAGES IN THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD, ➔ HONOURING MARY, ➔ THE QUEENSHIP & ASSUMPTION OF MARY, ➔ MARY'S STATE OF PURITY ➔ AND BOWING AS A SIGN OF HONOUR AND RESPECT: (All copied from the protestant version of the bible by Cynthia X) ➔ Including proof that saints are not dead, They are sharing in eternal life with Christ. ➔ Saints are biblical. The protestant "reformers" are not. ➨ INTERCESSION OF MARY & THE SAINTS IN THE BIBLE ...INCLUDING BIBLICAL PROOF that SAINTS ARE NOT AMONG THE DEAD: The Protestant claim that we are forbidden to speak to / pray to Mary and the saints is NOWHERE in the Bible. In fact, the following scriptures were copied (by me) directly from the Protestant version of the Bible: ... ➨INTERCESSION of a holy person on our behalf: ● JOB 42:8 8 Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams, and GO TO MY SERVANT JOB, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and MY SERVANT Job SHALL PRAY FOR YOU, FOR I WILL ACCEPT HIS PRAYER NOT TO DEAL WITH YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR FOLLY; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. ➨INTERCESSION of MARY: ● JOHN 2:1 At the wedding feast at Cana, it was Mary who asked Jesus to help the wedding party. ➨The KING Honours his mother's request: ● 1 KINGS 2:20: Then she said, “I have one small request to make of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her, “Make your request, my mother, for I will not refuse you.” (Jesus is the Greatest King and he also honours his mother's requests) ➨INTERCESSION OF THE SAINTS: ● REV 5:8 The prayers of the Saints are offered to Jesus the lamb. ➨SAINTS ARE NOT AMONG THE DEAD: AND THEIR INTERCESSION IS BIBLICAL: They share in the ressurrection of Jesus: (Protestants attack Biblical saints while they follow dead reformers) ● MATTHEW 27: 52 -53: When Jesus was raised from the dead Many were raised up with him. 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. ● LUKE 23 v 39-43...Jesus told the good thief "today you will be with me in paradise" ● REV 19 v 14...when Jesus returns he will be accompanied by his heavenly armies of saints. ● 2 COR 5 v 8...Paul tells us that to be absent with the body is to be with the Lord. ● JOHN 11 v 25-26...Jesus said I am the ressurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives, believing in me will never die. ● LUKE 1619-30 The story of the rich man and Lazarus show The Rich man, Lazarus and Abraham, all concious and interacting with each other even though they have physically died. ● LUKE 9:30-31 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: 31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. (Moses & Elijah were alive, and were yalking with Jesus) ● REV 6:10 The souls of the martyrs are before the throne of God, crying out for justice. (they are conscious and actively petitioning God) ● HEB 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, ● MATT 17:1-13 ...At the Transfiguration of Jesus, he is seen speaking to Moses and Elijah, further showing that Holy ones of God are not among the dead. ● JUDE 1:14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints ➨HONOURING MARY AND MARIAN DOCTRINES IN THE IBLE: ➨THE QUEENSHIP AND ASSUMPTION OF MARY: ● REV 12:1 A great sign appeared in the heavens, a woman clothed with thge sun, themoon under her feet and on her head a CROWN (signifying a Queen) of 12 stars. REV 12 tells us the wiman who aooears in the heavens is the woman who gives birth to the male child who will rule the nations. (Mary) ➨ MARY'S STATE OF PURITY ● LUKE 1:24-48 The Angel Gabriel greeted Mary with: "Hail, full of grace (grace is the state of purity that God gives to human beings by which they are saved) the Lord is with thee" Sacred Images are Biblical & mocking & destroying them is a serious sin, an act of blasphemy: ➨ SACRED IMAGES IN THE BIBLE: Sacred images are not idols and it is an act of blasphemy to attack them: ● EXODUS 25:18-22 God commands Moses to make STATUES of Angels. ● NUMBERS 21:8-9 God commands another image to be made, a serpent. ● EZEKIEL 41:18-25 KJV ➔ EZEKIEL's VISION OF THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD ADORNED WITH CARVED IMAGES: ... 18 And it was made with CHERUBIMS (ANGELS) and PALM TREES, so that a palm tree was between a CHERUB and EVERY CHERUB HAD TWO FACES; 19 So that the FACE OF A MAN was toward the PALM TREE on the one side, and the FACE OF A LION toward the PALM TREE on the other side: it was made through all the house round about. 20 From the ground unto above the door were CHERUBIMS (ANGELS) and PALM TREES made, and on the wall of the temple. 21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other. 22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the Lord. 23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors. 24 And the doors had two LEAVES apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door. 25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, CHERUBIMS and PALM TREES, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without. ● 1 KINGS 6:23... ➔ CARVED IMAGES OF CHERUBIM (Angels) LIONS AND OTHER IMAGES IN KING SOLOMION"S TEMPLE: \ 23 For the inner sanctuary he made a pair of CHERUBIM (Angels) out of olive wood, each ten cubits high. 24 One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits-ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip. 25 The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape. 26 The height of each cherub was ten cubits. 27 He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room. 28 He overlaid the cherubim with gold. 29 On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers. 30 He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold. ➨ BOWING as a sign of honour / respect: ● JOSHUA 7:6: 6 Joshua & the elders of Israel tore their clothing and lay prostrate (face down on the ground) before the Ark of the Lord. (an OBJECT) ●1 KINGS 2:19 Solomon bows to his Mother. (a human being) ● JOSHUA 5:13-15 13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” 14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell FACE DOWN TO THE GROUND in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord[a] have for his servant?” 15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

@ u protestants: Catholics have been believing in Jesus and following Jesus for 2000 years, but protestantiusm and it's doctrines of "scripture alone" and "faith alone" was started by Martin luther in 1517. ....HELLOOOO...Protestants are following Luther...not Jesus.

Am I the only one whose audio for All Saints mass doesn't work? For people who depend on KZfaq for daily and Sunday mass, it's terribly disconcerting to have no audio for these masses. This has been an on-going problem with All Saints' audio. Please have someone correc it, or stop showing this silent solemn ceremony in silence. Please! A day without Fr Johathan and his incomarable homilies is a sad, sad day for me. Fix the audio!

God Bless You, Father Meyer.I have been offline (no intelligent phone ever) entirely since Nov 1st. Sooo good for me. It felt so natural. I just recently returned from a 2mos visit to my 96 yr old Mother..housebound, in USA. 3 yrs ago I arranged for a Eucharistic Minister to visit her weekly. She has not been to Mass in about 30yrs, so much like both women you spoke of, she has very short memory, muddled? And can’t pray alone. Still praying for the conversion of my “good” siblings and especially to agree for a Catholic Funeral for our Mother. No scattered ashes! Will you please bless her in your prayers. I really missed you The Most, while offline. Back online now for 2weeks and it is still a battle, even though the info I take in is related to God, Mother Mary, Saints, Church, etc. Reading lots of great Catholic books, getting to sleep earlier, waking earlier changed everything, even meal times. I attend a wonderful active, reverent Spanish parish in my neighborhood…but I Loved being in 3 parishes near Mom that had communion rails, English, Spanish and Latin Masses and English Homilies…A treat! I pray always for Christ’s Amazing Priests, including of course You, Father Meyer. You got me through covid shutdown, shortly after my return to the Holy Sacraments. does this mean that if you are not married or not a priest you are not a man???? Genuinely curious. So if a man is single he has not attained manhood? Looking forward to an answer! :)
@allparish
@allparish 5 күн бұрын
Thank you for the question! In the Catholic Church there are 2 primary vocations, Priesthood nad Marriage/fatherhood...if you are not living one of these vocations that church presumes you are preparing or moving toward them. There is consecrated celibacy as well...but that would be a committed decision to remain a celibate for the kingdom.

@@allparish thank you so much for answering this question. I am 37 years of age and a man and I very much plan to become married/desire to. If one chooses marriage over priestly vocation and let’s say that God would have desired for the man to be a priest , does God with hold blessings from him? I am really taking my Catholic faith seriously again. It has been a long journey for me. I desire to marry however life has been a journey to say the least.
