Gah! This is too real. Sometimes I know what I am talking about and they don’t listen. It’s like if you don’t want me to try as hard, all you gotta do is ask. I don’t like wasting my energy on a level of quality that won’t be appreciated. Thanks for posting this. I love the people I work with and I am glad to have open communication with all of them.

There is a problem in this. This presumes that your boss understands the actual mechanics of your role vs theirs. My boss has told me how he wants the work done- and I have told him how and why it isn't working in practice. My boss is pretending to understand the minutiae of my job, and presumes that my the fact that it isn't working is down to personal factors rather than a process that does not flow in a coherent way, and is not interested in speaking to the people who actually carry out the work.

Then it's your job to understand their goals, expectations, and discover a way together to find a solution that works, or come to an understanding of what won't work. That's great that you know there's a skill gap and now how do you align what can be done with what needs to get done?

I’m a top performer. I’m being told to do something a stupid consistent way which wastes my time and prevents me from having the autonomy to secure continued success. What I’m being asked to do is important, but it doesn’t change my sales numbers. It’s lower in my business hierarchy of needs. I’m ready to pursue promotion just to get away from this.

Beginning to 0:52...yeah..good luck with that. Every single employer I have ever worked for regardless of the type of business star list of how big a small regardless of how long I've been with a company and a stablished. Can I no one I'm doing and I do my job accurately? Regardless, they do not care. They prove this time and time again. I was just scolded because I posted a note. Asking someone to fill out a war quarter form correctly, which includes the correct date. These are supposedly adults that ideal with daily, but there are a few of them that either can't or refuse to properly read a calendar. In terms of across sea. This makes no sense

Naaah i tried that and my boss just said I told you many times, find the procedures on my Google drive or … we’ll I let you that as homework… it’s frustrating

Hope that it is really that simple. My boss will say, if i have to tell you everything. Why do i need you here. Sad truth is, number of bosses always think they are never wrong, but most of the time, they are not right.

It's a tough situation but it is possible to lead up if you can depersonalize how you "THINK" they feel and instead focus on figuring out their goals. Then helping them see the path to their goal through what you want. Too often we miss out on understanding and creating connection (even with "bad" bosses) because we dont ask for communication and stay goal oriented.

Lmao My boss asked me "what do we got going on?" Then I told him everything that was going on in detail and he called me vague and asked the guy next to me. The guy next to me replied the EXACT same thing and he got a pat on the back. What would you do about that one?
