5 Years ago! I sat at home scratching my butt like a monkey 🐒 when SUDDENLY! I found myself in front of my computer, watching Lords of War by Blizzard.
My yet young eyes could not comprehend the sheer amount of awesomeness. But the very moment I saw the first video of the series I knew: Hhhhhh- OhmygONE DAY! (fist rising into the air like in an anime) One day, I'm gonna do one such thing all by myself!!
And so it was that my art journey began and I thus learned painting and I learned music composing and now I learned animation on the fly because why not and I got it done all within 2 months aaaaand...
now I'm sitting here.. still scratching my butt like a monkey 🐒
fewhfqwdudh who reads video descriptions anyway
.. wait. I guess you do, else you wouldn't even have found your way here, right? Dang. Ahem! Sorry for the unprofessionalism!
Let me make up with a most humble Thank You! 🙏 for passing by, friend :)

This is a really cool video and I can already see possible lore. - Humanity rejects the insight and blood of the old ones, looking to ascend through its own ingenuity and creations. - The industrial revolution kicks off as we turn to technology to bring us higher, using it to do wondrous things. - But as we thought machines were our creation, we learn that even they house gods, new ones we've never experienced that turn what we know on its head - The acceleration of machinery leads to humanity becoming pulled into it, creating these half machine and half organic monstrosities, all because we tampered with life (the flower that was resurrected) - This all comes to a head with the deep sea and celestial space crash together, washing away everything for a new beginning

My interpretation: - the beast scourge ends, but Yharnam is left destroyed and underpopulated. blood healing is banned, The Chruch dismantled and the hunters purposeless. - Kyrios is secretly created in a restored and newly active Bryngenwerth to fuction as a dream host. In that dream realm, New Yharnam is created. - the city rejects both the veneration of great ones and blood healing, and instead focuses on science and engineering. - Kyrios sees this as an insult, and starts to corrupt the new tecnologies into horrifying things. Some of the citizens start praising great ones and ascend into fish-like beings. Their goal is to sink New Yharnam into the sea and turn everyone into one of them. - a new order of hunters, the Oneironauts, is formed to do damage control on the situation at New Yharnam.

I just realized this is a poem...a really excellent one, at that. Yes, indeed. They call it: the Oneironaut. The wondrous device That grants one eyes. There, at the graveyard of our achievements, Where now prayers are heard nevermore, Will the line between the dreams blur. And when the Red Tide comes, The waters will rise... And all will be taken by The Endmost Night. Those who walk the Lucid Lane, Trying to wake themselves by raising Cain: The Bourgeoisie Immaculate. And upon the Crown of Creation, Lonely stands a Galvanist... Trying to reanimate a wilting flower’s myth: *Kyrious, God from the Machine.* And the pilgrims, who finally found the way, For in their call beyond... The Fifth Wall will break: *The Panopticon of the Deep Sea.* ... Like ants, we dug deep... Like ants, we built high... And like ants, we’ll be squashed...by the sea and the sky... *Ah, what have we created...* But, worry not... For it shall always end how it had begun... Behold...the Rising... Sun... Dude, I would kill for this game.

Ah, the sky reflects the sea. You can only go so deep before the tunnels collapse, and you can only go so high before the tower falls. FromSoft truly loves verticality and it is a stronger theme than ever in Bloodborne, where mankind strives for the great unknown both above and below equally in the hope to find the answer to that which they don't know, see or comprehend. Thank you for sharing your insight, you got them concepts down!

At 0:54 the word "Tehom" is written all over the New Yharnam sign. If i'm not mistaken, the term is a transliteration of a hebrew word that refers to the primordial ocean created by God prior to the advent of land in the Book of Genesis. This makes sense in the context of Bloodborne as the sea is portrayed as a place where ancient primordial beings reside and the presence of the Panopticon later in the video. This just shows how good Ricardo Emig is at understanding the themes of Bloodborne and pulling real world mythology into his work

Couple of things that picked my interest: - The nightmare version of Cain looks up to the light and seems mesmerized by it, meanwhile the "normal" version is being used as a tool - The "pillar" and the "deep" sea represent the opposites that are mentioned in the end. The galvanists built high, the pilgrims dug deep.

I can only assume the device from the beginning grew into that mess of stars swimming in the ocean above the Oneironaut’s head. He obviously wasn’t as prepared as he thought for the things it would show him, or perhaps that’s exactly what he was looking for...

See, I interpreted the little orbs in front of him at the end as eyes on stalks, the device granted him eyes, and despite the “New Yharnam” and the industrial revolution, the people still fall back to their old ways. He got greedy and tried to learn more with the device, but ultimately was “granted eyes” much more literally, and in a familiar way to the city as well.

The Oneironaut device could tie into online mechanics well. The lenses let you look into parallel worlds of other players. That ending image makes me feel something that not many horror or violent images can make me feel: disturbed. I don't know what it is about it, but when I first saw that figure seemingly with eyes sprouting out of his head and into the greatest unknown... Seriously gives me chills. The vocabulary in the monologue is just superb. Oneironaut is perfect. Panopticon of the Deep Sea is unnerving to hear... who is watching who?! Combining Blood and Machine is terrific. There are so many awesome stories you could create with it. Using the blood and machine together sacrifices your soul so much more than just the blood alone... And dieselpunk will always be superior to steampunk in my eyes. One last side note, is that first shot of the protagonist wearing the Oneironaut with only the two lenses a Matrix reference? It has to be in my eyes!
@RicardoEmigYT
@RicardoEmigYT 3 жыл бұрын
Loved reading your thoughts! Glad you liked the vocabulary as well. Fun fact regarding the Panopticon: There is this interesting double meaning in my native language (German) where a "Panoptikum" is also a wax figure museum, which I thought fits oddly well with what I had in mind for that scene. Regarding the first scene: Honestly? My primary inspiration there was Django Unchained, hah! The scene in the end of the movie when he blows up the house while lightin' one up? So badass! Only later did I realise: Wait, this unintentionally turned out to look like Morpheus, which thematically is like a 100 times more fitting cross reference hahahha but good catch!

Late 1800s to early 1900s hard Dieselpunk is such a great genre. Honestly its slept on far too much, I like how diesel punk typically manages to be more gritty and realistic to the realities of industrial life than steampunk fiction ever does.

I love that there is this sort of hopeful undertone in the last few lines. “It will always end what hath began… behold, the rising Sun.” With the inflections and music rising, which normally indicates something good or amazing. I take this to mean that even if we are as to ants, and even if we find ourselves squeezed between the sea and sky by our own creations and curiosity… That the Sun will rise. That this cycle of gods and infinity and eyes and blood has its Sun. It’s beacon of light. And even if the Sun itself is one of these uncaring, unfeeling gods… If we are truly as ants to them, how could we ever stop the good from happening anymore then we can stop the bad? That the system transends anything you can imagine. And as such, unless some force above us were to interfere and give us special power(Old Blood, Moon Presence, ect), nothing can REALLY change. So hold tight to the fact that although the world is falling apart, crushed under the weight of the infinite sky and infinite deep… The sun will always rise.

Well what a game, huh? The long wait was well worth it for this masterpiece. Personally my favourite boss was Kyrious. An amazing moveset, soundtrack, and atmosphere made him one of the best bosses I've ever fought against. I've died to the flower attack he does on low health more than a couple of times, and never get mad, just happy I get to fight him even more. I know this might be a controversial take, but I think the Panopticon of the Deep Sea is one of the best levels Fromsoft has ever made. It's on the smaller side, but the layout is so dense and complex I'm still finding new portions of the map three replays later. I know some people hate the Pilgrims, but I don't mind them. FUCK the Lucid Lane, though. I agree with everyone else on that. I still wonder what exactly was going through Fromsoft's minds when they added those frenzy snipers, and the Bourgeoise Immaculate's zero-windup grab attack.

The way the ‘sunflowers’ are all in full bloom as it shows the eclipse and god from machine is so goddamn cool. I have never seen the concept of black sunflowers in an eclipse. Eclipseflowers, I suppose. Also, those 7 notes at the abrupt end? One could write a whole music theory breakdown on those. I know it doesn’t mean anything coming from an internet shitter like me, but wonderfully done.

this is utterly fantastic and IMO an artistic masterpiece. the atmosphere was so thick you could chew it! I also love how, in true FromSoft fashion, there is so much lore that is hinted at being there, but we never get to see all of it... just... the smallest piece. an appendage, extending from the leviathan below... and above. beckoning, perhaps... promising... My guess is from what I’ve managed to gather from the video and the comments of others (as well as seeing that I should also fill the gap with exploration) is that in this world there’s two realities : - one of matter - one of dream The material realm is composed of two parts, which is the deep sea and the celestial sky, and between them lies the earth. In here are humans that after a great age of industrialisation they fell to their own progress, and now only the ashes of their previous successes remain. This all happened because they attempted to use the realm of dreams for their machines, attempting i supposed to harness that power into their technology. This caused the dream realm to begin to seep and corrupt the material world, bringing forth monstrosities from it, born from human minds no less. This brought on three events : - humans attempting to sever the connection with the dream (they are trying to wake) by rising an entity known as Cain, an immaculate bourgeoisie, which seems like it won’t go well since in the dream it’s creating an even worse monster, which might just be this reanimated version of cain. - a galvanist attempting to reanimate some god humans made from their machines (a man made god) probably for power or for salvation. Kyrios, god from the machine, that is to say, born from machines, hence born from humans. - some scholars and travellers going into the depths of the sea to commune with some ancient entities of the dream known as the panopticon of the deep sea. They are apparently trying to destroy the fifth wall, which might be the only thing keeping the dream from completely flooding material reality. Basically, it’s people trying to save their dying world, severing it from the dream, by awakening some entities that for them could bring salvation in one way or another, with two attempting to reanimate some dead entity, while the others are trying to release the dream fully. Within this chaos lies the oneironaut users, warriors that can see into the material realm and the dream, and could perhaps fight against these entities and finally out an end to the last wheezes of this dying world, seeing its sky and sea collapse against one another, promising the rise of a new sun. A path of earth, with humans and their attempts to wake by raising cain, the bourgeoisie immaculate. A path of sky, with a galvanist in the heavens trying to reanimate kyrios, god from the machine. A path of sea, with pilgrims trying to break the fifth wall, and release the panopticon of the deep sea.

I re-read your summary today. Love it! What I realised is that when keeping things up for interpretation, I get the chance to rediscover my own world by reading the perspective of someone else. A lot of the things you mentioned were things I thought of while working on it, yet others are completely new angles to me, shedding a whole new light on the world for myself. That's so cool haha. As an example - solely by wording it "sever the connection to the dream" (which you got right) I immediately realised a common theme between Bloodborne's Burial Blade and Sekiro's Mortal Blade, both serving to sever the ties to the delusion of an infinite reality.

the image of the bus/car/thing at 1:30 turning into the monster thing at 1:38 was fantastic, especially when i noticed how the monster seems to be made out of said vehicle, and how the monster's face appears to be that of the statue on the car. It's probably my favourite thing about the whole video. Also really like how in the scene with the monster thing all of the buildings are destroyed and the bridge seems to be breaking, and there seems to be some distortion effect applied to the rest of the world. Could it be because of the fumes coming out of the monster? It also seems that the lamps "repel" whatever mist is coming out of the creature. And if light somehow repels the mist could it be that the creature uses the mist to cover it's true form with the mist and attracting people with it's lights? also it seems to be producing some frequency from it's fingers, I'm probably looking too far into it lol. Edit: great work, it's an amazing work. Bummed that it won't actually be bloodborne 2 edit 2: just noticed that the intro is like dark souls 3's Edit 3: damn, broke his like streak lol

Hey man! Really love that interpretation, hell yeah! It plays so well into how in Bloodborne a lot of the visually perceivable story has to be revealed by gaining insight. This particular part of the video was partly inspired by the Unseen Village of Yahar'Gul, which is one of my favorite zones for it's great sense of mystery. :) Which also changes a lot in tone once the curtains fall. As for the distortion, great observation! I like how dreams often distort reality and show certain things we know of in a "twisted" alternation. As if a great spiral swirls all the waters of the dream. Edit: And nothing will ever break my like streak :P

Quite frankly, it would be disrespectful not to marvel at all the things hidden in this majestic piece and adoration, and an even greater travesty to keep it from those unfortunate to not notice them. That is why I will start listing off as many as I can find, with the hope that others will add all that I will inevitably overlook. We might each only have two eyes, but as a legion we are greater than any God. 0:00 - The iconic start of the original Dark Souls that, while not the first in the series, was undoubtedly the one to kick-start it's success is being referenced here. 0:03 - This man, who unfortunately has no official name as far as I know so I will call him "The Host" both for brevity and for reasons that will be apparent soon, has many things of interest encompassed in his design. 1. The high collar and leather texture of his coat is quite reminiscent of the style worn throughout Yharnam, alluding to that he was from there. 2. The scarf he wears over his chin is not dissimilar to the one in the standard Hunter's Attire, making it a possibility that The Host was a hunter once. 3. Given the lean behind his back visible after 0:07 it is quite possible The Host is sitting in a chair. added to that, his eyes are covered. This combined is reminiscent of the Blood Administrator who was also at a beginning, the start of Bloodborne. 4. The "socket" embedded into his scalp resembles a screaming face. This has no major significance, it just looks neat. 5. At 0:22 he is given a hat by a figure I will elaborate on later. This hat looks quite similar to the one of the classic Hunter's Garb. 0:07-=:15 - Here we can see porcelain hands with segmented fingers coming into frame. These are clearly aiding the Host as they put the Oneironaut on him. While doing this we can hear a female voice humming. Both of this is remarkably similar to the Doll in the Hunter's Dream whose role was to tend to Gehrman, the host of the Hunter's Dream and all the Hunters that pass through it Combining all the so-far mentioned facts, a possible conclusion is that this man was once a Hunter and is the current Host to the Hunter's Dream and as such sitting in the same spot the old host Gehrman and the Player Character in the second possible ending of Bloodborne were, a wheelchair which would also explain the lean behind him. Naturally, the host of Hunter's Dream is being tended to by the Doll, though is intriguing that she now has seemingly four hands meaning a non-human physique. 0:13 - The Oneironaut's "plug" is shaped like the familiar Hunter Rune by Runesmith Caryll who designed it after Old One's word for "hunter" which they got from the image of a hanged, headless man they saw during Byrgenworth's raid on the fishing hamlet. 0:22 - "... that grants one eyes." This line is quite complicated to explain shortly. The most important part is that Master Willem's teaching survived through time but that people are still searching for ways to gain insight. 0:30 - Electricity-lines seen here and at many other points in the video means the Industrial Age we saw in Yharnem has progressed and that electricity is now a wide-spread, possibly even gouvernment, mandated resources. One can also spot antenna, therefore radio-waves must be used for communication of some sort. 0:32 - Sea-levels have risen and flooded parts if not all of the world. The source of this water is unknown but a potential expiation is being shown later. 0:37 - The similar style of clothing (mostly the coat and hat) as well the illumination at the moment the narrating Host is inhaling through his pipe and sudden appearance of smoke when he is exhaling could mean that the man on this ferry-boat is the Host. 0:47 - "... the graveyard of our achievements." This line has many possible indications and I unfortunately cannot discern which one is more likely. 0:51 - Out of the water a street-sign is reaching, displaying "New Yharnam" though it has been vandalized with numerous writings of "Tehom" 0:54 - "... where our prayers are heard nevermore..." The mention of prayers could allude to the Helaing Church's presence. Also, after the host says "nevermore" a crow is cawing. This might be just a simple reference to Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem. 1:00 - "... will the lines between the dreams blur." In Bloodborne we explored many dream and nightmare realms, all gouverned by at least one Great Old One. It is possible this line means their realms are converging which would mean conflict between them. 1:04 - We do not know what this "Red Tide" is, though the water around the remainders of the flooded cities shines red when illuminated by the sun. Therefore it is possible this "Red Tide" which is a consequence of the God'S Dream Realms covering was the event that flooded the world. 1:16 - "The Endmost Night", another term we have never heard of before. Interesting is though that at its mention the colour faded to black and white. 1:18-1:35 -This shot of what is presumably New Yhanarm reveals a great deal about its culture. 1. Either this scene is set at a harbor, a bridge crossing an often flooded river or the city is already somewhat flooded, possibly even with worries the flooding will increase. All this is indicated by a measure sticking out of the ground with increasing numbers going up. This appears to be a water-level-measure, used either in harbors so ships will know if the water is too shallow for them to safely traverse or during floods to check how the water-level has developed. Given that chimney's can been seen underneath the bridge, the third possibility seems most likely. 2. The city is currently undergoing a prohibition, most likely not on alcohol but on blood as it was used in Yharnem more frequently than alcoholic beverages as blood was more intoxicating. It seems this has caused illegal production of blood as new measures are being enforced. 3. "Join the Industrial Revolution" is a propaganda-banner that supports my hypothesis of electricity's broader usage as a result of further development. 4. A new machine has been invented and is being marketed, the "Mercury Torch", a crude version of an electric lantern or oversized glow-stick. On the poster there is a word I was unfortunately unable to read, the best I could manage was "F?UORESCE". 5. Another poster reads "Awake! Awake! Ball of the Beasts; Fend of the Night". This could mean that either the beastly scourge of Yharnam has now become a legendary event and as such is being used in many cultural events as inspiration or the beastly scourge is still present and has by now been integrated into society to the point that they theme their social events after it. 6. There is an advertisement for nightshift phrased in the exploitative style iconic of the Industrialization. 7. A large mob of people, plenty carrying the aforementioned Mercury Lanterns and several armed with firearms of some sort are marching across the bridge. They are all dressed in clothes either reminiscent of the style in Yharnem or resembling the beast that roamed there but despite this and them carrying weapons the people seem to be in good spirits..This could quite possibly be the "Ball of Beasts". 8. An automobile of some sort is carefully driving through the mass. A placard on its left side reads "?vrious' Motors" (I unfortunately couldn't make out the first letter. 9.There is a distinct contrast between the red lights coming from inside the houses, the automobile and from the street lamps to the white light of the masses Mercury Lanterns and the one being carried by the statue atop the automobil. 10. Several nearly broken, crudely made signs on a sort of spire below the bridge read "Down with the Church", meaning the Healing Church has both spread, is still in a powerful position and there is tension between it and the people. 1:36- - Upon the Host switching lenses on the Oneironaut he sees a different version of the previous scene. Here the architecture is twisted, the poster for the "Ball of the Beasts" has a claw-print on it that resembles the Caryll Rune for beasts, the poster that previosuly said "Join our Industrial Revolution" now says "Join our Industrail Evolution" ,with evolution being what the scholars at Byrgenworth and the Healing Church saught the entire time, and the masses and automobile have formed a humongous monstrosity baring a face similar to the one of the statue atop of the automobile, though now porcelain and also with segmented, porcelain (i.e. doll-like) hands. This monstrosity also still has the white lantern the statue held while all other sources of white light are gone. Added to that the Host says "The Bourgeoisie Immaculate" so this change might illustrate that the contrast of white and red light might be the working people versus the exploiting upper-class. It also reaches upwards with its right hand upon which it hits the surface of a waterbody. This could be a reference of how in Bloodborne great bodies of water could serve as somewhat of a pathway from the real world to the dream realms of the Old Ones, to the point that underneath the water of Fishing Hamlet in Kos' Nightmare Realm one could see Yharnem as if watching from the clouds which also explained why one of the creatures from that realm fell from the sky in Yharnem. Considering how high the floods had risen and how this scene must be based on the amount of roof-tops and chimneys in the background it could very well be that this monstrosity is touching the portal in the sky to the realms of the Great Old Ones.

1:52-2:31 - This garden is remarkably similar to multiple sites in the Research Hall and Lumeflower Garden, with the wilted sunflowers being and glass dome being near identical to those found in those places. The person operating the machine was for me impossible to make out, however I did spot numerous interesting details in their design: 1. Their hair colour appears to be very white, meaning this is either a very old person or one with naturally platin-blonde hair, both of which having been quite rare in the Bloodborne so far. 2. The length of their hair suggests either a female character due to how frequently female characters have longer hair in video-games or a remarkably old person or an inhuman being. 3. The way their head is tilted forward and their hair is slightly blowing forward resembles Mergo's Wet Nurse. This is supported by the fact they are linked to a new-born Great Old One, here being the source of its creation. 4.The individual is being described as a "galvanist" which was a movement in chemistry and biology that supported the claim that what causes our muscles to move was bio-electricity", based on the research done by Luigi Galvani. While their theory was disproven, give the existence of Darkbeast Parl and how widespread the usage of electricity is here, maybe the world of Bloodborne abides other laws. 5. The thing atop their head resembles the very wirery apparenace of Oneronaut. 6. The content of vials in the machine this person is operating have a strong red hue when in front of the moon's light. It could be blood. After the Host changes lenses again, see the same spot, but now with blooming flowers instead of wilting ones, alluding to the fact that the Galvanist's attempts at "reanimating a wilting flower's myth" were a success, the glass dome torn asunder, an eclipse happening in the background though strangely with a white light-circle instead of the sun's yellow to red one and a creature where the galvanist and his machine stood. This creature is being referred as "Kyrious" by the Host, its name potentially supposed to sound similar to "curious" as it is a "God from the Machine" meaning artificially created out of the efforts of us researching and experimenting humans. Furthermore, it is unclear whether this title means this creature was born from the Galvanist's machine or humanity's increased usage of machinery in the Industrial Revolution, though notably the creature does have the same flower on it's "head" as the Galvanist was using his machine on. 1:57 - "The Crown of Creation" is most likely referring to the Great Old Ones and something being "upon it" could be it being in their dream realms. 2:33-2:46 - I am uncertain how to interpret these semi-translucent, bio-luminescent fish-people akin to the fauna of the deepest parts of the ocean, however the decrepit and archaic buildings in the background could mean these are the people that survived when New Yharnem was flooded and have adapted to the underwater life. Interesting is that "...in their Call Beyond The Fifth Wall will break." Now "Call Beyond" was a mystical attack from the game which harnessed the powers of the Great Old Ones and the subtitles capitalize "The Fifth Wall" meaning it is a sort of title. While I am unsure of what it means, the cracks that form behind them in seemingly reality itself sem to be leaking forth more water, so my initial theory about the convergence of the dream realms of the Great Old Ones having brought the waters that flooded New Yharnem might have some basis. 2:47-3:02 - Someone else has to interpret this part. I am unfortunately unable to do so. 3:03-3:33 - What the Host says is quite clearly understandable, the visuals however I don't know what to make of. 3:34-4:18 - Here we can see the Host again, the Oneironaut having extended its lenses to such a degree that they are reaching into the waterbody above him. Speaking of, the flood seems to have risen to such a degree that the normal water-level (of our oceans) is nearly touching the strange water in the sky that leads to the dream realms of Great Old Ones (though do remember that those in the normal world can still accomplish that meaning the one below the Host could also serve as a gateway). What it would mean if the two bodies of water were to converge I could not imagine. Noteworthy is that the Host's right side is now sprouting great amounts of fur with his right hand resembling a claw while three blood-red spectral bolts are sticking out of his left upper arm. This could represent the dichotomy of evolving through blood and evolving through insight, as the first would turn you into a beast in your attempt while the latter exposes you to new dangers, such as the bolts the light-house in the Nightmare of Mensis shot at you which look very similar to the ones sticking out of the Host's left arm.

@@voidjockey82 2:47 - 3:02 is weird but iknow that Panopticon is a point from which everything else can be seen, so the breaking of the Fifth Wall ,might be leading into this place of ultimate insight, perhaps the world the Host finds themself in at the end with the water above and below him.

@@WonderPil A place of ultimate insight. A highpoint from which all can be seen. Where nothing will remain unknown. My gosh, one needs a really big frenzy symbol to describe this amount of insight!

@@RicardoEmigYT Well, it´s one of the greatest things that I ever saw and because of all the effort you have put into the small details, I think it would be a shame not to talk about them (which still isn´t enough justification for my obsession with this work of art)

This is doing Elden Ring levels of expansion to Bloodborne. I can still faintly recognize it, and that's incredible. The fact I'll never see more of this hypothetical pains me.
