the most emotional I've been for an TWD episode....Danai and Andy SMASHED IT
@tenjed42243 ай бұрын
I never repeated a twd ep until a season was over. I fully rewatched ep 4 today, and plan on watching it again, later today. Wow. And it was 95% dialog. What an episode. Danai gets all the roses for writing this one.

They both deserve Emmy nominations and wins for their performances in a limited series, as well as Danai for writing this episode.

This was the most magnificent episode in TWD history for me. “What if I can’t figure out how to die all over again?” destroyed my heart. And the line about him learning to live while dead (thereby describing himself as the walking dead) broke me. Absolutely stellar acting from Andy and writing from Danai. Give them ALL the awards.

your take on michonne leaving judith & rj with team family was on point. she isn’t just chasing a man. her journey to bring rick home is largely FOR judith & rj and it’s refreshing to see someone use common sense when talking about their situation.

The way he said they're not my damn people, had me cracking up. Andy's acting in this is soooo good. They both had me crying throughout the entire episode. I wanted to bop Rick upside his head, because he kept begging for that device so he could push the button. He had a panic attack in the love making scene and she put his hand on her heart, so beautiful. I love your reactions, they're very funny.

Danai writing a bottle episode like a play is probably the smartest decision they’ve ever made! She’s brilliant and the acting in this episode from both of them!!! If it’s not considered for an Emmy, I’m full on boycotting awards! 😅

I loved that as soon as Rick held the phone, the scene cut away to Rick holding little Carl’s had. Brilliant bit of directing.

if andrew lincoln doesn’t get an emmy for his amazing performances than we have a problem
@dylanburton49553 ай бұрын
I adore this episode so much, Danai absolutely knocks it out the park with the stellar writing and the directing/cinematography continues to be top tier, she also helped with the editing of the episode as well as writing and then show running it basically. The performances from both actors are top level, I felt so emotionally invested and I could read every emotion and thought they were feeling just by their eyes and face alone. Andrew Lincoln and Danai are by far some of the best actors I’ve ever seen As someone who loved Rick from day one like so many, it hurt and really got to me seeing him breakdown over Carl, it all felt so real and authentic The arguing, going round in circles, different methods of convincing was so well done and realistic too Definitely one of the top episodes of tv I’ve ever seen

This episode might be my all time favorite of any season/show. Diving into Rick’s trauma and the anxiety he has. After failing so many times and being treated like an abused dog by the CRM you really see how he became a shell of who he was. Like he legitimately feels like the stereotypical abused animal who is afraid to leave their kennel. It’s very sad but brilliant. The scene where he’s so desperate to open the door but starts having an anxiety attack was *chefs kiss*

Fantastic episode!! Andrew Lincoln's acting in the Scene where he talks about losing Carl and Michonne in his dreams.. and "trying to get ahead of it.." was off-the-charts. I've never seen Rick in a more vulnerable state! I still have Zero idea of how they're going to wrap the show in only 2 episodes.. but can't wait to see them!

@The1Music2MyEars3 ай бұрын
Everything, from the deep rooted fear that Michonne chopped away to get to his true, raw emotional fear, Rick's metaphor of how he lives to the walkers when he says he knows how the dead live, how Rick is okay with the idea that Michonne maybe being alive and safe rather than knowing if she actually died, to the fact that Carl, even after he has passed, brought them back together.
@Mr.MagicMoustache3 ай бұрын
This was one of the best TWD episodes in the entire series, not because of action, not because of walkers, but because of Humanity and these characters that we've cared about and loved since the very beginning Rick Grimes is TWD and the series has always been about the survivors of this new dead world. Tip of the hat & all props go to Danai's showrunning & writing skills! Truly brought out some of the most raw & authentic emotions from Rick and Michonne as well as some of the best acting from both Danai and Andy ❤ The scene where most people I think broke down was when Rick broke down, confessing about his trauma of losing Carl. Definitely choked me up and got tears flowing. Such a powerful and beautiful bonding moment. That brought the true Rick Grimes back! I hope Chandler Riggs does return in TOWL, it would be amazing and he deserves it Since S1 Rick has had trouble with communication about his feelings with Lori, and Michonne pushed him to unleash all of those emotions. Rick's definitely come a long way and his character arc is still progressing and getting growth Sorry for the long winded novel Katie, but just like you, I love TWD so much I could talk (or in this case type) about it forever! Amazing reaction, it's surreal that we only have 2 episodes left, we just got Rick and Michonne back together officially and then they'll be gone again so soon! I'm always excited to see your reactions and hear your thoughts, I'm looking forward to hearing your discussions :) Happy Saint Paddy's day too Katie! (I just learned to say it Paddy's from now on haha) 🍀💚

I think even if rick died, Jadis would still suspect it was an escape attempt by rick so she would bomb ricks community. Therefore the best strategy is probably for Rick and Michonne to both go back to the crm to take care of the Jadis problem first then they can leave together.

Danai Gurira (Michonne) wrote/directed (I think)/produced this episode... They both need Emmys right now.. Michonne was so mad she didn't mean to tell Rick about RJ yet.. There sex scene, Rick's had anxiety (trouble get erect) cause he hasn't had sex in almost 8yrs an he's final back with the women he loves.

they skipped over some discussion because you saw out the window it went from dark to light or light to dark so that's disappointing that we might of missed a lot of reactions to news Rick hasn't heard yet, the fight scene's were really good, i like seeing them using shields, and cool seeing Michonne using bo staff type weapons since she mentioned it, i wonder if bo staff training and Katana training are interchangeable because where could she have learned that from, the spicy scenes weren't spicy enough it was too dark and tame so hope there is a bit more time for that, a shower scene would of suited better because they had running water and a chance to use it
