I heard rumours over the years since he left the show that he was being offered multiple roles in major movies but wanted to spend more time with his children while they were growing up. @@ex-soldier4341 It could have been that, because of the movies, -- and because she wanted to write and produce stuff (did it, will also be an Executive Producer on new series). I've heard of number of actors speak about how they like the "nomadic lifestyle" of an actor (working for a while but being able to do something new before they get bored). While working on a long-running show does help one's bank acct., it also prevents them from doing other things.

I really Missed Michonne and Rick I'm so happy to see them on the big screen again. The original show just felt empty without them. It wasn't TWD anymore without both of them it still was but it was half of what it used to be. Also I hope the opening theme or soundtrack is great.

Even though Fear's ending was disappointing, at least all of the other spin offs have been great so far. Still hope to see other characters pop up in the shows at some point, like Morgan or Dwight/Sherry.
