I've been saying I'm gonna get in the gym or get my own hoop & go ham lol. I'm 6'4 205lbs so my slams be wild but I've been slacking hard on em just playing outside dribble & shoot cause I'm old lol. 😆 I feel like I took the height for granted (offense wise) in my younger years & played defense for rebounds & passed the ball & shot from 3 or a little inside, just park playin, I never played on the school teams or nothing, keep doing ya thang man. Larry's story is Legend. I knew one guy growing up that had hops like crazy, short as all hell but lived for basketball 🏀 like it was said before I would have loved to see Larry in the NBA right next to his brother, whether with or against him it would've been epic. 💯🏀✨

If you know the childhood story of MJ getting beatdown by Larry in their backyard and put it together with this video it's clear a part of his drive was to not lose and I'm sure he got many of his moves from big brother. Not all, but those we look up to we copy and improvise and add to in becoming our own. People like to overdo and sell that MJ is from another planet and one of a kind but its not without inspiration and watching others. The credit for those he looked up to and those that helped make Air Jordan is mostly forgotten and sports heroes are blown up way bigger through no fault of their own. I am happy to see most Jordan's interviews that he remains humble and gives credit, mentioning others and is a class act ! Forget the GOAT status and recognize this man brought many a players all over the world want to up their game and or start playing this great game which increases health and wellness.👍👍

Agreed!! If you ask me Len Bias and Reggie Lewis was deliberately removed so Mike could be who he became. If you remember Mike never beat Larry Bird!! An Mike definitely would not have beaten the Celtics with Len Bias and Reggie Lewis no way. The Celtics kicked Mike AZZ more times then any team in the league!!! They had to make it easy for him to beat the Celtics eye swea!!! Len Bias was 6'8 and eye think Reggie Lewis was 6'7 they were to tall for Mike. He would have caught pure hell fukk'n with that front court. Mike don't win 3 straight shiid Mike don't eem win 6 more like 3 maybe 4 and thats real maybe. Len Bias gave Mike hell in college where he out scored Mike eye remember that dude he would have ripped the NBA apart!!! REST IN POWER LEN BIAS AND REGGIE LEWIS!! Taken Before Their Time!!!! 🤔

Fun Fact: There was a player better then Micheal Jordan in the NBA. HIs name is Len Bias and he was drafted to the Boston Celtics. Unfortunately Len died before he could play his first game but people say he would of been da goat. Could do everything MJ could but he was taller.

A player better than MJ in college. Len didn't play one NBA game. Don't know if his skill/abilities/will/work ethic would have translated to the NBA. He could have been trash or MJ on steroids. A life totally destroyed.

@@housepumpinpc3983exactly! Nobody saw Jordan’s potential when he was in college and since then we have seen so many college studs flop in the nba. We don’t know if mjs brother Larry would’ve been better either. He’s the older brother so part of Jordan’s determination and drive came from getting beat by his older brother as a kid. Larry prob didn’t develop the same killer instinct

Len was a fantastic player. He was one of the greatest players from U of Maryland at that time and the team was a monster. Len has a game that in hindsight, was similar to Dominque's. And with that, other than to say they would have been rivals, there's no definitive proof that he would have eclipsed Jordan. He was, however, drafted to a much better team, Boston, than Jordan, which would have given him a heads up regarding possible championships.

Dont forget Jordan's work ethic. Kobe had that, but most players don't. They get millions of dollars for being amazing, very few are motivated enough to work as hard as Jordan did. Quick first step and finishing moves was there early but Jordan worked himself into an elite defender, worked on his ball handling, worked on his outside shot, developed his fade away... He was already a star and yet kept increasing his skills. I dont think Bias came out of college with all those tools, tragic that we never knew how his game translated to the NBA.

The best part of Jordan's baseline dunk was he kept his head facing the opposite way while spinning to the baseline totally throwing both defenders off. He had power and grace.

Apparently, there were two: Len Bias and Larry Jordan. But the argument that Larry’s height precluded him from going pro falls on deaf ears. Calvin Murphy was 5’8. Bobby Jo Hill might have been 5’10, and several NBA teams wanted him. Tine Nate was allegedly only 5’10, as was Isiah Thomas. Doug Smart and other old-timers were also undersized, and there have been plenty of undersized stars in the NBA. When MJ claims height stopped his brother, he’s full of cap. Despite his talent Larry just wasn’t passionate about hoops. EOS.

Wasn't passionate about it? It's been his whole life. Played college at UNC Wilmington, and WBL pro for Chicago Express, and been an executive for an NBA team, the Hornets, since 2011.

Actually, I believe that Larry was the person who created Michael Jordan's competitive natural. Michael could never beat him, and he hated it. He would play Larry all night with the same outcome of losing to him. So, in my honest opinion, there would have NEVER been a Michael Jordan if there wasn't a Larry Jordan.

That’s exactly right @the_automatic4138 The 89 video Michael Jordan Come Fly With Me I watched religiously as a kid lol. Talks about their daily battles briefly in first few minutes of that video. Another cool fact about Larry is without him Jordan would have never worn 23. Their favorite number was 45 and since Larry was on same HS team and older he already had 45. Jordan decided to take half of 45 and round up winding up with 23.
