If you know the childhood story of MJ getting beatdown by Larry in their backyard and put it together with this video it's clear a part of his drive was to not lose and I'm sure he got many of his moves from big brother. Not all, but those we look up to we copy and improvise and add to in becoming our own. People like to overdo and sell that MJ is from another planet and one of a kind but its not without inspiration and watching others. The credit for those he looked up to and those that helped make Air Jordan is mostly forgotten and sports heroes are blown up way bigger through no fault of their own. I am happy to see most Jordan's interviews that he remains humble and gives credit, mentioning others and is a class act ! Forget the GOAT status and recognize this man brought many a players all over the world want to up their game and or start playing this great game which increases health and wellness.👍👍

Len was a fantastic player. He was one of the greatest players from U of Maryland at that time and the team was a monster. Len has a game that in hindsight, was similar to Dominque's. Dont forget Jordan's work ethic. Kobe had that, but most players don't. They get millions of dollars for being amazing, very few are motivated enough to work as hard as Jordan did. Quick first step and finishing moves was there early but Jordan worked himself into an elite defender, worked on his ball handling, worked on his outside shot, developed his fade away... He was already a star and yet kept increasing his skills. I dont think Bias came out of college with all those tools, tragic that we never knew how his game translated to the NBA.

Apparently, there were two: Len Bias and Larry Jordan. But the argument that Larry’s height precluded him from going pro falls on deaf ears. Calvin Murphy was 5’8. Bobby Jo Hill might have been 5’10, and several NBA teams wanted him. Tine Nate was allegedly only 5’10, as was Isiah Thomas. Doug Smart and other old-timers were also undersized, and there have been plenty of undersized stars in the NBA. When MJ claims height stopped his brother, he’s full of cap. Despite his talent Larry just wasn’t passionate about hoops. EOS.

It wasnt for a joke, it was more of an investment, having the smallest player with tbe tallest player, they knew it would sell a lot, they didn't draft him cause he was the besg player doe.@@RodJack-hf7rc

Actually, I believe that Larry was the person who created Michael Jordan's competitive natural. Michael could never beat him, and he hated it. He would play Larry all night with the same outcome of losing to him. So, in my honest opinion, there would have NEVER been a Michael Jordan if there wasn't a Larry Jordan.

Must've made him even madder when he lost to another Larry (Bird) in all those matchups.

That’s exactly right @the_automatic4138 The 89 video Michael Jordan Come Fly With Me I watched religiously as a kid lol. Talks about their daily battles briefly in first few minutes of that video. Another cool fact about Larry is without him Jordan would have never worn 23. Their favorite number was 45 and since Larry was on same HS team and older he already had 45. Jordan decided to take half of 45 and round up winding up with 23.

At that time, the NBA had Mugsy Bogues, Spud Webb, Nate Robinson, Calvin Murphy, Earl Boykins, Greg Grant, Isaiah Thomas, Jacob Gilyard, Dana Barros, Kay Felder and a few dozen other players under 5'9. If Larry was good enough, he could have made it also.
