The BMW 335i is one car that is talked a lot for several reasons. They are affordable, they have insane tuning potential and they also have their fair share of reliability concerns. The number one question I get via my social media platforms, is how do I make my BMW reliable. Well to answer this question on a mass level I decided to make a dedicated video on maintenance. My car is about to get a bottom mount single turbo kit from Doc Race (DR700) which means my car will need all the maintenance it can get before attempting to make big power. In this video I'll have the guys at Precision Sport Industries drop the N54 engine and replace every single part that is known to fail.

I've heard a lot of negative comments about the n54 335i. That being said, when it does run right it is an absolutely incredible car. And you can buy one right now at a decent price. I do want one but I am just afraid that I would not be able to afford all the maintenance. So I'm going to wait just a little bit longer until I can figure out exactly what needs to be done to the car that will ensure that it will run for at least 50,000 miles without any major issues. This video was very informative. Thank you

@@mysixfo8805So the thing is, they definitely do need a lot of work and you need to know how to work on a motor yourself to get your budgets worth. That being said, if you know how to work on motors and have some money in savings for the main failure points, they're not that bad. The aftermarket has covered a lot of the big failure points of the N54 in 2023.

@@RennAMVs you purchase the parts from FCP. Once you need a replacement, you order the new part and send the old one back. FCP issues the refund, you pay the return shipping. If you pay using PayPal you send your shipping receipt to them and they cover your return shipping cost for the warranty return. Basically buy the parts once from FCP and never have to buy them again, even oil!

Hey bro I love your channel can't wait to start working on my N54 engine. I was wondering is it going to be of a problem for you to make a list of all the parts you changed? I guess it would be very easy for us to just go with the full list to the supplier! Cheera bro!!! Keep the good content going!!! Appreciate your hard work 🙂😎

I'm late to the party, having just purchased a e90 335i, but you can just lift the engine crane to the height in an instant by hand, instead of pumping it manually or with whatever device you were using.

So are stock n54’s reliable? I’m planning on getting one with around 100k on it. But I’m not planning on trying to get huge numbers

You can buy BMW coolant as zerex g48 in stores. Same stuff, just a bit cheaper. Found out when my e46 had about 4 coolant leaks in a row

Those control arms are fine, they move like that normally, but its still good to upgrade to m3 ones and put the poly bushing in if you want more stability. It will however make the ride a lot less forgiving on bumpy roads lol.

I like how in the last video you pretty much jinxed yourself!🤣🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ The 335i looks amazing, I'd love to have one but it's so small for me to be in. My wife has a 328i and it's an itch for me to get in and out😂
