This guide only focus on the own benefits of a roam. Only on how much you can gain. But you can also roam to deny the enemy more than you lose. for example: your toplaner has the wave stacked on the 3rd wave and their toplaner can lose 3 waves if you succesful dive him. You can absolutely Roam and even lose a wave if the other toplaner loses more. That is also okay! In that case you give up some pressure in your lane so another one of your teammates can snowball the game.

And? That's a coinflip, you're putting yourself behind to make sure that your laner gets ahead. That means he could just throw his lead in which case you'll be flaming him while being useless yourself, I have never heard of a high elo laner that roams to get their team ahead rather than themselves.

@@saugattamang9739 There are times when a free dive is possible and definitely worth it. If you deny the enemy toplaner a stacked slow push and get a kill (or force him to run to t2 and recall) and you get platings + possibly first turret it will be worth. Of course the lower you are in elo the higher the chance is that either the dive fails or your teammate gives his shutdown right back. But at some point dives are next to building a cs lead the most consistent way to force a lead actually. It's just hard to coordinate and you must watch out for counter ganks.

Question: What to do if the enemy laner has a lot of wave clear? What should I do first before I roam? Should I either slow push 3 waves and fast push or is there any other solution?

Slow pushing and building up a wave isnt the greatest idea (6:41). Force the enemy into a situation where they need to recall (poke them out or look for roams when they have no mana) then roam. Or if you are both resetting, you can roam bot from fountain to lane gank and then teleport back to lane.

@@fengliu975 22 sec from mid to a side or vice versa, so 44 sec from top to bot. Vs 27 from base to lane. So its faster to roam bot from base then tp top, but faster to tp mid first then roam back to your side lane.

@@fengliu975 your way is faster if you're a mid laner or if you're ganking mid. Its faster to recall walk, then tp if you're doing a full cross map roam. That's all I was trying to say 😀

Well, I've tried a roam heavy style these days and sometimes it work wonders, but others fail miserably because either the ADC tilt and start playing like it were already lost AND the ganks don't work or they still keep calm, but I start to get some levels behind and, as a consequence, become more squishy (I main Leona, Nautilus and Amumu). I really wish I could watch replays on my cellphone because I'm really in doubt of why it works absurdly well sometimes, but it's disastrous others. Without looking at my replays (unfortunately I don't have so much spare time outside of commutting), I am really in the dark

Thats why i love playing anivia so mutch. After lvl6, even in a losing lane, my opponent cant roam without losing atleast 2 minionwaves

You are *allowed*, but you're taking a risk. That better be a calculated risk or you'll be the one creating a disadvantage in 50% of those games. A wave and a plate is totally worth it if there's a guaranteed shutdown or a doublekil, just waiting to get collected.

I feel that it doesn't work in my games, I deny the enemy laner gold and exp and get tower plates but the enemy mid laner or top laner gets 2 or 3 kills, or he feeds his adc kills, my teammates don't back away, or if the enemy is a shen how am I supposed to follow his roam?

what was bad about the bard roam timing? the only critique i managed to pull from the clip was that tryn was not gonna die, but what if it was a different situation and bard did get a kill. What made the timing poor?

So is it just impossible to roam against high wave clear champs? No matter how big the wave I crash is, I always end up getting punished for it by losing cs to my tower

Essentially yeah, as long as they have mana. The faster their waveclear is, the shorter roam radius you have. Your main options are to target their resources or to manipulate waves to get better resets.

Yes and No. Sure it is harder to get an advantage over them this way, but your roams win other lanes, get objectives and in the end win the game - you get the honor and their afk farmer gets a decent portion of flame for playing farm simulator. You just to need be extra careful with what roams you take.

you can still always try to force them out of lane, and then roam. Sometimes even losing 1 wave and a plating can be worth if the roam is relatively guaranteed and there are for example huge shutdowns on the sidelaner.

pro tip: look where your wave is and the opponent wave will be in the same spot coming back into lane

Too many times you shouldn't roam, just push the lane, falling asleep while killing minions. This is why (for me) being a jungler is the only way to enjoy this game.

Yeah, plates were a terrible idea - binding players in lane and denying interaction with your team when you want to win. Aswell you still get pinged to a fight and blamed for not being there when it's worth staying in lane and making gold. They really should take gold out of the game so that gold management isn't that important and the game would be more if a game having fun to interact with your teammates. Hope the new objektive bounties will do something here - and hopefully the enemy team doesn't see them, because that will just lead to faster wipes when they trap you there. And then you have a loose-loose decision at the loosing team, listening to a Set-up call that will get you wiped and loose faster, or not listening and get blamed for not getting the bounty.. 😵

@@zoefezius6615 Try Heroes of the Storm. There's no gold, the XP is shared with the whole team, the maps are smaller and everyone has in-built Mobility Shoes (a mount). Also, objectives are more frequent and interactive.

Only if your team is going to win the tf with Shen being there. Otherwise, Shen could turn around one or even three winning lanes into losing ones and after that Shen usually auto wins the game since a fed Top laner can't beat a fed mid, jg, and bot at the same time.

No, Shen can ult and teleport back without missing a wave. A reward for good map awareness and a compensation for taking a summoner spell that he can't use in a 1v1.

I agree and disagree. It is the most efficient thing to do, but funnily enough I see alot of higher elo players roam on even waves. Seemingly for the reason that it's not what should be done and it isn't as expected. I think T1 is one of biggest perpetrators, next to qiyanna mains xD. But hey, do what your skill level can afford. I'm sure they sack the wave just because they KNOW they'll get something out of the roam I'm assuming.

t1 is a bit of a special case tbh, he plays for side lanes HARD when playing like annie, and annie does not need much gold to operate so thats a lot of the reason why, i can givea really interesting video that discusses t1

Hey, just a question then? Do you expect new players to just know advanced macro concepts right at the start? If no, how do they learn without having to give up a lot of time to it? These video aren't really made for high elo players, they're more made to get low elo players to understand things better and make less mistakes like bad roam timings
