Been almost 50 years since I lived in Devonport, nice to see it hasn't really changed very much. Best suburb in NZ; took the ferry every day to work in the city on the old ferries and was on it the day it got lost in the fog in the middle of the harbour. Great memories. The Esplanade Hotel was the place to go for live music back in the day.

Must’ve been amazing living in Devonport!! We really enjoyed exploring 🤗 unfortunately we didn’t take the ferry this time, but we definitely want to do that soon! Must’ve been creepy getting lost in the fog out in the harbour 🫢 We really wanted to go the Esplanade Hotel, but their restaurant section was closed 😢

I bought Oodies just before winter. It is honestly the best purchase I have made. Ever. We practically live in our Oodies now. Comfy. Warm. And the soft texture!!!

Awesome day trip out, you two. Love watching your adventures in my hometown. Glad you two are safe from the serious event, yesterday morning. I have a suggestion for your next day trip. Go to Catalina Bay, out west, for the markets, pizza and beer. Glad you are enjoying Auckland and keeping safe.

@@BeingBedingfield lol yeah that was in the early 1990's. .lol would struggle to walk it now as its so steep(which am sure you found out)...😂..keep up the great vlogs..cant wait till you discover the waitakere ranges waterfall walks and muriwai and piha westt coast black sand beaches

Back in the day you could drive onto the Devonport Wharf and fish from the comfort of the car. Which I did many times with my son.

Great video guys! I’ve always loved Devonport. I remember exploring the tunnels at North Head and we’d hide then jump out and frighten the living daylights out of each other. 😁

@@BeingBedingfield parts of the tunnel system are open to the public, including one that takes you down to the bottom sea level and there's a nice path that curves around the waters edge.

Oh also there are many tunnels that are scattered thru North Head and even go down thru the mountain to the beach below.
