The African American Preaching Legacy Series hosted by Dr. Frank A. Thomas presents "A Conversation with Four Millennial Preachers." Four outstanding and accomplished Millennial Preachers, Rev. Dr. Neichelle Guidry, Rev. Dr. Charlies Dates, Rev. Willie D. Francois, III, and Rev. Dr. Brianna K. Parker discuss preaching from the millennial perspective: call stories, sermon preparation, preaching mentors, technology and social media, depth in preaching, Womanist preaching, and so much more. Because of the powerful nature of the discussion, the Conversation will unfold in three parts: the first video will be "The Preview: Announcing the Call" and will feature their call stories. The second video, "Part I: The Opening Conversation" and then, "Part II: The Closing Conversation."

What qualifications in scripture did God give for a women to be a theologian?

Appreciative of the thoughtfulness and substance of conversation. Each of the panelist offers perspectives of the black church that is pervasive but not addressed in pulpits. I am encouraged that the black church is emerging and prevailing..

Great discussion with a wonderful panel of the body of Christ. It pleases me to know that the future of church as we know it has individuals who genuinely love GOD and his people.

The love of God and God's people is so evident in these millennial preachers. They have and are doing their faith work and blending their scholarship to produce good results. Looking forward to hearing more from each of them.

What?! "God made us in His image and we returned the favor". That knocked me off my feet. I was NOT ready for that. May i just point out the irony of you all having pushed against the pursuit of soundbite preaching and then leaving us off with the mother of soundbites?! LOVE IT! That was great I have a lot to think about :)

It’s educational to hear how this panel thinks; I am impressed the most with Dr Dates because he imposes the depth of the gospel instead of the anticipation of the world’s response to the sermons. Do we expect the world (Twitter FB) to love our sermons? No! Ask Joseph, Apostle Paul and Jesus Himself. My opinion- Preach the full gospel and leave the work to the Holy Spirit.

People of any generation can not solely only be informed by their generation. Tradition and style must be secondary to the God-breathed message.

There is no such thing as homophobia. The Bible is clear about homosexuality. We must treat all people with dignity but we cannot condone what God condemns clearly in scripture.

@@faithhouse6111 It's not about Dignity, it's about making sure that they know that they are in Sin, that they have to come out from that Sin, that they cannot even have Acceptable Worship in Sin, that they are Not part of the Saved, that if they don't repent Heaven will Not Be Their Home, THAT'S WHAT IT'S ABOUT....... Please provide sound doctrine scriptures supporting women as pastor's over an aggregation of believer's - male and female. No feedback of man's personal eggregious doctrine ( Histology). Just proof from scripture beginning from Acts to Revelation.

Jeremiah Paul patriarchy is not merely a man in leadership , no more than racism is a shire person in leadership. It is an outlook which will only see a woman in subjection to a man under all circumstances.

Faith House When man-made philosophy is used at the grid/framework to evaluate creation, family or ecclesiology it will always find privations and grievances. It is a form of wisdom that never submits to the will of God. Gender roles do not subvert human dignity just as the complimentarian roles of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in redemption does not diminish their deity.

Very talented group, but I prefer the old school group you’ve been interviewing. This group is lofty and doesn’t have much life experience. Therefore, they lack storytelling skills. Maybe they will get to it, but I’m signing off.
