And growing up in the 60's and early 70's when the late Bob Hope was the permanent host, made the Oscars, much like the Miss America Pageant and the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, anticipated family events. It was great being a kid in the 70’s. Things were so simple and real. No cell phone or computer devices. People had real conversations with each other in person or on a landline telephone where you actually heard someone’s voice instead of texting etc. It was pre cable television and everyone watched the 3 major networks and that was it. Motion Pictures were something you saw at the local movies theater only. Made it all more exciting and we appreciated every minute of it. Intimate details of everyone’s life wasn’t common, public knowledge. We only knew what we read in the magazines or on TV shows or in the newspaper It was better that way. Privacy was sacred!

You can see he also has much regret when talking about Sally Field ..( he was 77 when he was on the Pierce Morgan show)..It was a great piece on Burt's life! Very touching if you are a fan of his! I attended the actual 1986 academy awards, (I was able to "sneak in"), but sat for only 15 minutes, as I was walking around 95% of the time. Saw many celebs, and even met Spielberg on stage after the show. I did appear on tv, behind whoopi and Michael J Fox. One of the best nights of my life. In 1987, I did walk the red carpet again with my 5-month son in a tuxedo; I appeared on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, interviewed by Australia crew. / The beginning of this 1974 ceremony, I met about 5 celebrities: Paul Newman, Joanne woodward, Raquel welch, burt Reynolds, Liza Minnelli, etc. I told a friend in 1979, on bleaches, at Oscars, I said "One day I will get inside there". who knew in 1986, I WOULD! In 1985, watched from bleaches.

Pam and her sister Gina ran an art publishing company at one time. I was honored to be one of their chosen artists. I met her brother Rod and pam's mom. Visiting their mom's home in Colorado was like entering a museum. It was filled with photos of Pam alongside the likes of Richard Pryor, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, etc. Nice family. Very down to earth, She signed my copy of a director's cut of "Jackie Brown". Great times.
