@danielfreer8487 3 жыл бұрын
@@maxkho00 The immortal is still the most famous game either way, i do see your reasoning behind saying the opera game "did it better" but that will always be an opinion-based claim. there is simply no denying that the immortal game is the most famous game though, as so many other games in history took on the name "blank's immortal" etc. even a quick google search asking what the most famous game is comes up as the immortal. regardless they are both great and phenominal examples for position being more important than material eitherway though.

But why do i need to comment?.. because this is the ONLY Chess game i have ever seen, in which i could picture something happening on the board, that blew my ,mind.. it was the two knights. and when that single pawn was placed in between them, i could swear it looked like he was closing a door or gate!.. the most beautiful single move in chess, next to the check mate of Paul Morphys greatest game.

I found Qf6 in a few seconds (of course finding that move isn't the impressive part; seeing this position so many moves ahead is). What's silly is in Blade Runner when they use this game, Tyrell calls this move ridiculous, even though after it's played it's plainly obvious you're getting mated next move. And he's supposed to be a genius.

The immortal game on June 21st, 1851 is probably my favorite game ever, this shows how Anderssen took 3 pawns & lost his queen, both rooks, light sq. bishop & 2 pawns but he still was able to manage to win by checkmate. With the two knights & 1 black sq. bishop he was down 21 points, but could still give checkmate with his weak material. This 170 year old immortal game just will never get old, no matter what the moves which were played back than!
