Sue Coppard is the founder of WWOOF and in this animated video we hear the story of how this world wide culture of non-monetary exchange came to be.
Sue is always being asked to tell the story of how she started WWOOF back in 1971 but always tells the wonderful story with such clarity and fondness.
The film is a collaboration by WWOOF administrators from around the world including WWOOF France, WWOOF Italy and WWOOF USA and we'd like to thank Cécile, Tori, Alessandro and Gergõ for creating such a vibrant piece of video.
If you'd like to join WWOOF UK and experience our volunteering opportunities for yourself or to become a host in the UK please visit our website: wwoof.org.uk/en/how-it-works
Land-based practical skills are more popular than ever within the dual challenges of the climate emergency and coronavirus, so now is the best time ever to explore the UK countryside and learn relevant knowledge in a very practical setting through hands-on experiences.
Choose the situation that best suits your interests and passions, we have organic farms, smallholdings, intentional communities, Scottish crofts, country estates and even a castle.
