i just remembered that in one of the episodes, the song "unleash the magic" was played. the thing is that the teacher said "To find a student that's like you, I've had one or maybe two But the good ones disappear before I blink". maybe one of these were sunset shimmer? however i think she would focud on studying not because she wanted to like twillight, but because of the grades.

I know this isn't the original account and stuff, but I didn't realise this when I watched it before, you know how there's that theory that sunset shimmer is sunburst's sister? if they lived in the pony version of sires hollow, then they would probably stay there, because sunburst and sunset shimmer went to canterlot to learn magic. in the human world, they wouldn't have had cutie marks or magic, so they probably wouldn't have moved. this also kind of works because we haven't seen an equestria girls version of sunburst either, or starlight glimmer, and we know from the show that they were separated because of sunburst's cutie mark.

We see Canterlot, but what if human Sunset is out of that city, region, etc. and off doing other things? She could be a sort of traveler. Celestia finds sunset in the mirror room ( a room magically sealed to all) as a foal and ends up raising her, but never told her the truth of her origin ( maybe put a memory block similar to what professor x did with Jean great)

Given the situation with human Sunset, I have a theory of my own: what if instead of being a bully, human Sunset is surrounded by bullies. Just like Sci-Twi was surrounded by rude, social recluses. Sci-Twi was also driven to her evil form through pressure, so since pony twilight never had an evil form, maybe this one doesn’t either. She probably still has issues making friends, and is all around cynical of the idea since she’s surrounded by bullies, and maybe she’s just neglected all around. Pony Sunset’s presence in her world doesn’t make it better, and while she doesn’t outright antagonize anything since she just wants to live her own life, she does resent our Sunset.

She's not one of the ponyvill unicorns meaning she could have been from anywhere... Vanhoover to baltimare. Now sunset was also a student... she did her studies and it wasn't really inpatients that caused her problems but her nasrsisitic tendencies and quest for power. On earth, i could picture her being on either coast, California, New York, or baltamore. and it wouldn't be music for her studies... oh no. It would be Politics. The expectation of manipulating and gaining power, with hopes of one day... climbing the ranks to president. at the current age in the series, she's likely School president. She's not "joiner", but likely has "groups"s he runs for different political goals or causes, that she can weaponize. her short term goal is to get into a Col or Uni once she graduates and then going into Political sciences with a minor in liberal arts. she is NOT the type of person you want to get access to magic or magic items.

My theory is that Sunset is the connection between the human world and the pony world. I guess it would make sense considering the magic from the pony world is still in the human world. Sunset would be the “portal” for the magic to travel through because of the power she has. If this theory was true, then it’d be safe to say Sunset doesn’t know about it considering if she did she would use it to her advantage against Twilight when she became a demon. Since she thought the magic came from the crown itself she didn’t think about it when she put it on her head but, would it have reacted the same if anyone other than the main six? Since the magic from the crown was pink and not teal, It had to have been the magic she acquired back in Equestria when she was a unicorn. Considering, Twilight isn’t there to be the Harmony between the five, Sunset is and If she’s the outlet of the magic in Equestria, It explains why the girls can still “pony up”.

I have a theory/headcanon that the human world actually didn’t exist before Sunset get into it. I think the mirror wasn’t linked to another world at first but when Sunset used it the first time, it magically create a alternate world that was a "copy" of Equestria but with slight differences (they’re human instead of ponies there is no magic, well not really, there is some magic from Equestria that enter it from time to time). Since this world is a copy of Equestria at the time Sunset enter its, it explains why Twilight wasn’t friend with the other main 6 here, since it happens before she met them for example. And Sunset doesn’t have an human counter part because she wasn’t copied in the process, since she was not at Equestria when it happened. This theory also answer to the question Applejack asked in Rainbow Rocks which never get answered in canon: Why the sirens appear now if they where banned by Starswirl 1000 years ago? The answer is that Starwirl didn’t send them to "another world" but instead they were like in the void , and they teleported in the human world only when Sunset "created" it using the mirror, then they were powerless until the events of the first movie which lead to some Equestria magic appears (speaking of that, the sirens doesn’t have human counterpart either, for the same reason as Sunset). Same with magic artefacts we see in the Equestria Girls series, that all were long lost artefacts from Equestria and suddenly they appear here.

Here’s my theory: Human Sunset Shimmer used to go to Canterlot High, but left to transfer to an elite school far away, just like pony Sunset left Celestia’s school to seek power. At the same time that human Sunset left, pony Sunset came to the human world and basically everyone assumed she was the same person. This would make human Sunset a good foil to Sci-Twi, who transferred from an elite school to Canterlot High to seek friendship.

Well while I admit that maybe the theory of human sunset Shimmer secretly trading lives to live in different worlds would be interesting, to me that wouldn't really make sense as seeing we don't even hear about a human sunset Shimmer being in equestria. Maybe this other human sunset Shimmer lives a different life entirely to the one pony sunset does. Maybe she could be successful but not to the point where she is well known. We can't generalize that human sunset would have turned out like pony sunset because even pony twilight and human twilight were pretty different from each other. Human twi was more like Fluttershy since she was Timid, shy and u confident from herself even though she was very smart. So maybe instead of being too proud and lacking humility, maybe this other sunset was humble and patient, not arrogant like how pony Shimmer first was. Maybe she just likes to keep a low profile and it's why we haven't heard much about her. But as someone else states in the comments, since the comic showed another sunset Shimmer playing in a band, maybe that's where she is and it's why she's not mentioned in the show? I don't know, but this is what I think.

I once read this other theory that the reason why Sunset doesn’t have a human counterpart was because Sunset serves as a gateway between the 2 words. Since she most likely brought magic through with her from Equestria when she first arrived in the equestria girls universe, but Twilight was the one to properly activate it. She could also be in a completely different country than the others, since this world Does have HUGE differences in placing people in different places than in Equestria. For example, there are Movies on flat screens and cars instead of carriages, busses instead of wagons. They have More fashion considering everyone wears clothes as for the Pony world you Rarely see anypony wearing clothes. There are schools and bills/taxes unlike in Equestria. The outlands have more different life styles like an old steam punk bandit desert lands, they have so many different equations that make their lives different. It is both similar but the main 6 all go to school in the human world but in the pony world they do their own thing, Apple jack works on the farm, rarity designs, flutter shy takes care of the animals and helps any of their issues. So many factors make things different in each world. But I do like your theory on her being destined to bring the worlds together but at the same time it doesn’t logically make sense. With having 1 other universe similar to another, who’s to say there aren’t more. That there isn’t an infinite amount of worlds just as different and similar as the two we know. So with that there should be more worlds she connects with if that is her destiny. But also why was she made to bring them together? It doesn’t make sense. We would also have to know the Mirrors origins to help that theory of her being the only one without a double.
