Saw Brandi last year. Best concert I ever saw and I'm 71. I also love and have seen Rufus 3 times so far. Thanks for this post. I waited 3 years to complete my bucket list, which was to see Judy Collins after 2-year delay of Covid and one because of hurricane warnings the day of, and I need Brandi one more time. !

You are so delightful. Your spirit drew me in when I “ happened” upon this on KZfaq. I love Brandi also, read her amazing book “Broken Horses “ and heard her acceptance speech for her 2023 songwriter’s award . She is a beautiful human being who respects each person’s dignity. I don't think this crowd was very a "with it" crowd. They talked loudly when Rufus W. was on stage...they must NOT know --that on the East Coast and Los Angeles --Rufus Rules. He is always a "Sell Out" and he has been a HUGE draw for the past 20 ? 30? years. He "SELLS OUT" Carnagie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Tickets to see him can go up to the 1,000's.

I know 🙁 I was disappointed in the lack of attention for both him and Yola. I think it's because it was an outdoor festival, so the vibe was very different than an indoor concert.

I was sad about that myself. It was her festival, but he could easily have been the headliner and certainly deserved more respect. It seemed like a lot of Wolf Trap patrons in the audience (which is a good thing, of course). Not too "with it", but I'm only 67 so what do I know? 🤩I was also disappointed she did the same set both nights. Went to Mothership with different sets over three nights.
