High Temperament actually means your cool and calm in this game. Low Temperament means you're a seething ball of rage

I swear every time I hear one of these devs describe the game to people and they come up on the topic of TTD, I can almost hear them start to say, "VATS" and quickly correct themselves, lol. Can't wait for the game, it looks like a lot of fun.

Wait, so you've got enough points to put your all your stats at average, and still have six points left. Nice. So, you're not obligated to have a dump stat just to make a character viable. I like that.

First Last granted a lot of games don’t balance the stats so it’s that speCial if they have actual balance.

Dump stats are fun, I like playing a dumb character, or a socially inept character, or a very physically weak character. Flaws give your character... Character

There's various difficulty mods, and skills to get a casual experience BUT there's great stuff for hardcore gamers like hungry and thirsty stats

@@Oldentide honestly I think this can be true, probably was true more often when it was first being done, but now it feels like a group-forced gimmick. It's not more characterful a lot of the time. It's just used as a binary check to get in to the nerd community (at least in dnd). The roleplay version of optimizer toxicity. Not that you're bad, by no means, just that the community forcing that as an end-all, be-all is silly.

The decision to make him a cashier shifted him more towards an Ash from the Evil Dead type character. I think Han Solo would have had electrical skills, he is always working on the Falcon after all.

So far this game looks very promising! I do think people should temper their expectations though. When it comes down to it the game isnt high budget and I think it can be very apparent in some aspects of gameplay.

Honestly, the fact that it's not a MEGA AAA BLING BLING release is a huge positive to me. Games that fit that profile seem to always compromise game-play for mass appeal. It's solid high end AA, which is enough.

There has been a consistent stream of info/content on this game since E3. They can't show much more before the embargo drops, I'm not sure what you expect.

I have no idea why this keeps coming up when people discuss The Outer Worlds. They have released a ton of info and a ton of gameplay, the only thing they could do at this point is just show you the whole damn game. I guess people’s attention spans are now just so short that not getting some new significant info every single day is “radio silence”

That is so deeply developed, fun and cool. Obsidian I love you 😃 One thing is bad for me, that there is no special bonuses at „higher than average“ stat levels. Not only „+45% hit“ but something like „no critical hits“. That would be awesome and boost replay value, IMHO.

I spend at least 2 hours in Skyrim CC. With all the mods I have it makes it worse. Then I start the game, play for an hour and restart because their eyes are too close together or something.

Thanks to this video, I did a min/max character. I maxed out Intelligence, Charm, and Temperament, and minimized my stats for Strength, Dexterity, and Perception. I opted for a gun since my melee scores are terrible, but at least my hit point regeneration is great, and I can talk my way out of everything with amazing persuasion/lie/intimidate with minimal faction-standing dropping.

Matt Tim Caine and Leonard Boyarsky, the original founders of the Fallout universe who now work for Obsidian. They worked together again on Outer Worlds.

And despite what people think, it's Tim and Leonard who were behind FO3 and NV (bear in mind NW was so rushed because of Bethesda) I sincerely hope this is Tim/Leonard's next big hit too, but I hope even more that because of the universal release now, Microsoft doesn't stick to us PS players in terms of the exclusivity plans they have mentioned in the past few weeks

Given Obsidian Entertainment's past RPGs you most likely cannot respec your character. What you made is what you're stuck with. If you want to try a different playstyle you need to start a new game.

Dont take any negatives. I recommend Dex for 30% faster melee swing, 30% faster reload on range and Charm for keeping Rep gains high, Rep negatives low. On skills Dialogue Stealth Range, shooting for the base 50 before focusing on single skills. Dialogue offers some experience and makes dealing with people a tad easier, Stealth is your lockpicking hacking, also allows you to steal, and range is most versatile, though with high dex melee weapons still work well.. the 25m effective range pistols being most useful.

I know. Too many microtransactions and with fo76 ruined, ended up buying a Switch. Been playing Breath of the Wild. But I got the Xbox game pass last night and now I am playing The Outer Worlds. This should fill the void hopefully.

Definitely couldn't agree more. It's a game like they used to be. And the cherry is definitely the "no IAP or DLC as well as no "bonuses" for preordering or spending £50/$50 more on it!" Planned additional content will be a la TW3 style, actual expansions if they are successful!

I prefer playing a bit of a lone wolf, so I'm gonna dip down charm and bump up Dexterity, intelligence and perception to high and play as a keen eyed merc.
