Every time anyone uses right pronouns for Raine my enby heart is screaming in happiness (Yes, ik this is the bare minimum but everyone I know is transphobic so I can do it lol)

they also use xier/xem pronouns for them in the german dub^^ it makes me so happy everytime i hear them mentioned in television

The first episode they're in, their pronouns get used for ONE line, in a way where it's unclear if Eda is talking about them or using "they" has an ambiguous/general statement. I was really REALLY worried that's how the show was going to continue, tiptoeing around having a nonbinary character by just avoiding pronouns all together. I made me so SO excited when their pronouns actually got used the rest of the show. It's silly, but as a nonbinary person it's just really nice to know that if I got dropped into the silly little magic witch world, I might have to deal with an evil emperor, but at least I won't have to deal with transphobia lol

I wanted to see if they used gender neutral pronouns for Raine in the Bulgarian dub because if they let Amity and Luz date I was curious to see if they would get their pronouns right so to look for a moment where they used ''they'' I went on this video and was OVERJOYED to see gender neutral pronouns be used for them because I genuinely didn't think they would do that

Here's what they did on the Latin Spanish dub: >They refer to Raine as "Person" or using their name. >They don't use pronouns. >Avoid some adjectives (They're replaced with other alternatives).

The other thing I love is that it's so natural. The show's never drawn any attention to Raine's pronouns. They just ARE Raine, and everyone (including the villains) wouldn't imagine describing them any other way. Plus Raine is middle aged! Most nonbinary characters you see are teens, which can give the false impression that only teenagers identify as nonbinary.

Background characters will bully Raine until they run away crying, but they won't disrespect their pronouns 😎🤌 normalize hating someone without misgendering them

It is so satisfying to hear after watching it in russian fandub where they used "he" (there's no official one ofcourse) We have a gender neutral pronounce (оно), but it's usually used as a pronounce for objects They could have tried to use "they" (они) but it sounds weird and doesn't fit in some sentences Well... hopefully one day people will get used to it 👌

Y'know, given Wendy's age, I find it so sweet that she is so cool with her character having a crush on a non-binary character. Using Raine's pronouns properly, using Raine's va's pronouns properly, I know Wendy isn't that old but somehow every time I get reminded of that it always warms my heart.

There's a place for representation in entertainment that calls attention to itself, IMO, but this is still my personal favorite kind. No slowing down the story to lecture any potentially ignorant viewer or emphasizing how the character is in any way a minority like the villain being bigoted towards them, it's just a normal person being depicted as normal, so normal, in fact, that calling attention to it might come off as MORE politically incorrect than not.

I used he pronouns because i didnt get it at first, in the brazilian portuguese dub they use male pronouns so that got it messed around for me, i also struggled to notice the "they" in the english version, i only realized it because of the substitles 💀

one of my favorite parts about raine is that their gender identity isn’t their entire character. they’re just a person living their life alongside the cis, trans, other nbs, and anywhere in betweens. and it’s great that no one makes it a big deal, which unfortunately happens a lot. thank you, owl house.

If I remember correctly, Italian dub uses little to no pronouns for Raine as there is no neutral one, yet, but lots of people who are either LGBTQIA+ or allies alike usually use */x/ə at the end of a word. Personally, ə is the cutest option although it's not properly a letter but a mid-central vowel sound. To make an example, the word "about" is spelled /əˈbaʊ̯t/ in IPA, so not really an 'a', nor an 'e'. However in very extreme cases, masculine adjectives are used to tell about Raine, but I think most of the times they were referred to without involving pronouns whatsoever, so by omitting third-person pronoun (egli/lui for males, ella/lei for females) and/or completely changing the sentence so that it sounds as neutral as possible. In Italian language we have a third third-person pronoun which is 'esso', but it isn't that common and it works just like English pronoun 'it'. I also remember one time Luz said: "Richiama Raine e dì loro che non c'è nessuna consegna", or something like that (i.e. "Call Raine back and tell them there's no package to receive, basically), so a literal translation I'd say. Which sounds odd considering essi/loro (they/them) is used in plural, and not to refer to someone whose gender is unknown or unspecified, unlike English, but I do remember Luz saying that. In any case, I think Italian dub is doing a great job. I know how challenging neutral pronouns can get for... a general casual audience, but changing the sentence to make it neutral-friendly is a good choice for me.

I have something to confess I had NO clue Raine was NB til someone on Reddit pointed it out before King's Tide aired. I was accidentally calling them by the wrong pronouns the WHOLE time without even realizing it. I still feel like a goddamn idiot for it. 🤦🏻

Im french, and in no other show ive heard someone say the neutral pronoum, its really rare irl too, so when they said it in TOH i got so happy!

Another detail I loved was how the va differed with teen Raine. Messing with people trying to put an agab on them. Reminds me of how Steven Universe had outfits for Ruby and Sapphries wedding to mess with censors trying to make it look straight. Shame the show never did that well in other aspects as 99% of the time Garnet was 2 gays hiding in a trenchcoat. (And that's not even mentioning Lapidot SU Futhre Pearl lol. As a massive autist, Peridot is too pure and deserves better than Lapis)

IM ABOUT TO SOB, I NEVER NOTICED THAT AND YOU JUST MADE MY DAY AMAZING

Season 2 recently got released on Disney+ in Sweden where I live, but for some reason the Swedish dub completely missed the mark on this...which I found really strange since Sweden is a really LGBTQ friendly country, the Swedish subtitles actually did give Raine the right pronouns, and the Swedish dub for She-Ra had no problem giving Double Trouble the proper pronouns.

I absolutely love Raine! They are so amazing and I just love their personality! As a non-binary myself, hearing their pronouns being respected brings joy to my heart, especially since my family doesn’t respect my pronouns. Raine is definitely one if not my favorite character!

Fun fact: In the Disney+ subtitles for the breakup flashback, Raine is referred to as he/him, but I'm not sure about other scenes. It could just be a misinterpretation, but it still annoys me.

My mother and her relatives are all very homophobic and hella trans phobic. Like bruh, no💀 My aunt thinks that being trans is "rejecting" your gender assigned at birth and messing up the law of nature. Like bruh 💀 Needless to say, I don't say my honest opinion on that topic to avoid hate from them towards me... I wish all the genders and sexualities were accepted and normalized here, in our real world... 😢😞

I think this is actually the best way to be inclusive and get people used to pronouns and identities. Even the evilest of villains uses the right pronouns. It's not a forced lesson, the ones that look at the screen and go "see kids? not respecting pronouns is baaaaad". The spectators are not idiots. So making the characters simply use them correctly gets the message across way more efficiently and doesn't feel like a lecture

What I love about this show is that everyone respects pronouns and preferences. I think that’s how it should be. Everyone calls raine “they” and even Odalia respected Amity, when she said “we’ll get you a new girlfriend”. She didn’t try to push her to get a boyfriend or dislike that she had a girlfriend, when it meant getting rid of Luz it was just getting rid of Luz, not hating amity for liking another girl. It was just normal, and that’s what I like about this show.

as a spanish speaker srs i didn't know Raine use They/Them pronouns until i saw a new saying that they was the first NB character in Disney,viewing the show in eng makes me happy (srry for the bad english im not good in it)

I absolutely love this, it makes my heart soar! My only gripe is that, (correct if I'm wrong, I haven't watched the whole show), I wish they could have at least corrected one character for originally using the wrong pronouns. It would let viewers know that it's ok to make mistakes, and that there's always a chance to fix them. I feel it would also be a good influence as well, seeing someone correct their misuse and respect the decision of another.

Now the question is: does Belos respect their pronouns?

Finnish doesn't have gendered pronouns so most people who watch the Finnish dub won't even notice, everyone is just referred equally as "hän" :)

There was an interesting thing about _Knock Knock knockin' in hooty's door_ is that in the Spanish dub they literally translated Them as "Ellos", so that means that Or it's asking eda to let Raine help her or asking to tell it to everyone else, because she needed be understanding the most and not being closed to everyone else because of the curse.
