Thank you for what you do on KZfaq. I am a Vietnam veteran, I have submitted a claim to the VA for hypertension which I'm taking medication for. I have been issued a 0% for compensation because my blood pressure during a C&P exam was not 160/90. Without the medication it probably would be much higher but unfortunately they do not take that into consideration.

Not a Pact Act issue but a Viet Nam issue. Me - US Army Combat Engineer 12C Viet Nam 1969. Prostate cancer diagnosis 2016 with Stage 4 prostate cancer as of May 2022. Radiation, surgeries & ongoing medications. Kaiser docs say I will die with it or of it. 100% disability since July 2022 and as of this year I get addl $130/mo for loss of use of a reproductive member because the treatments made me impotent (in 2022). VA says prostate cancer is curable so guys like me get a C&P exam every year! - more of a nuisance than anything. Still waiting for my dependent (wife) compensation; its been 14 months of delays. Regardless - thank you Uncle Sam and the Veterans Admin. God bless America. PS - I also have a 10% for back injury, the prostate issue causes me frequent unination, and the treatments give me sweats like hot flashes every two hours day and night. Could be worse.

Tina, based upon your husband's service in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, he should be entitled to service connection for his sinusitis, COPD, kidney cancer, melanoma, and emphysema. Please don't be discouraged by any former denials. VA adjudicators and C&P examiners are still getting trained on the PACT Act and it will take a bit of time for them to get up to speed. I suggest working with a local County Veteran Service Officer to make sure your husband's claims stay on track and get granted as soon as possible. All the best to you and your family.

I was in the Persian Gullf who is now experiencing some symtoms or syndrome from those toxic ecposure. That is exactly what I thought , our records should speak for themselves and VA was asking for some evidences and they are like trying to make it hard for us to be entitled to those benefits that we deserved . It is very very hard for me as a minor to get my benefits.

100% disability rating !! I never would have imagined .. beyond my wildest dreams,, that I’d be taken care of after I joined the Navy in 1972 ! Even after a VA social worker did all the leg work and completed the necessary required documents on my behalf and all she needed from me was if I had served in Vietnam and my signature. This was the consequence of the PACT Act ! Yes it took 50 years,, a triple hit , stage 4 cancer diagnosis DLBCL non-Hodgkin’s aggressive Lymphoma with Cachexia, Ascites and Lymphedema ravaging my body two years ago November 2021. But I’m very grateful!

Elaborate more on exposure to radioactive materials please ( location & military duty) for radiation exposures. 3 years at Nuclear Medical Research Laboratory working with radioactive materials as instructor to NATO forces on Radiation detection and and protection in Landsthul Germany from 2971 to 1973 .Symptoms experienced are sinusitis, rhinusiti, bronchial asthma but were considered non disabling & non compensable since1974.

What this, my husband did two tours in Vietnam, came down with prostate cancer as a result of Agent Orange, and a Lipoma nodules on his back area and being his wife, I came down with lipoma. Also my side size of a baseball. VA did surgery on me is result because I was told that agent orange can be transferred through semen. Is that true so what I’ll be eligible if I came down with stomach cancer

So not true. My husband has chronic sinusitis with surgery. Served in Saudi and Kuwait. Just two weeks hi C&P report states less likely service connected. I should also mention he has COPD, Emphysema, two different kidney cancers at same time in right kidney, active CLL, melanoma, hypertension, etc. looks like he is getting denied.

PACT ACT is not what it's turning out to be. Political theatre! Problem is that denials are still being sent out at a high percentage. I just got a low rating for "lupus", which is rated at 10%, 60% and 100% typically. If you don't put in a nexus or "prove" the flare ups, you will get 10%. My Rep failed me on that portion, she didn't even advise that those supporting types of documentation are needed! Ironically and sadly, they "denied" me for Gulf War Syndrome, yet I have the DoD letter from the 90s to us that admitted exposures and my time over there was before, during, and after the war ended. Reason, listed as "no proof of health risk". WTH? Presumptive means squat. Denied.
