I'm a recent subscriber... and can I just say, this is simply the most neutral, fair, professional review of Kylie Cosmetics that I've seen to this day. This review had NO previous notions, misconceptions, opinions, or pop culture references. The review was simply an investigation of the product, and it's one that was considerably more positive than that of the wide range of "beauty gurus". John uses lighting that shows the product in the most honest and obvious way possible, stays zoomed in so that you can see texture and nuance, and shows levels of detail that I've never seen before on this site. John Maclean is truly the underrated legend that I don't deserve

When I first started watching your videos, I thought you were long-winded; however, I've amended those thoughts since. Your lengthy but well worded descriptions allow most anyone to participate in the makeup process in depth, especially when you describe the product packaging. I feel like anyone with vision issues or those who may be completely blind, would be able to follow your tutorials and gain a strong understanding of makeup. Thank you.

I’m nowhere near pale, but I love watching John. It is very true most companies forgetting about both very light and darker skin tones. Too much focus on the middle shaded but not the rest of the spectrum.

I follow Nyma Tang for the same reason--she does a fabulous job of reviewing the darkest shades of foundations. It's truly disappointing how exclusive brands are.

May I also add the recommendation that you mention your usual skin type at the start of films in this series. Would you describe your skin to be 'normal' (not particularly dry or oily, since you manage to use KatVonD Lock It with light powdering) and 'sensitive/ blemish prone' or do you feel that it is simply your pale tone that highlights any flushing or redness that is not irritation? As a makeup artist, is it harder to catagorize skin types of those with the palest and deepest skin tones because of how differently they display inflammation in terms of skin colour in contrast to dilated blood vessels and other colour related signs of inflammation? I'm MAC NW18/ KatVonD 43-44 (but it is too dry for me used neat) and would describe my skin as blemish prone/ borderline acne-d but I have come to release that my problem seems to be two fold: that it is hard to find concealers and foundations light enough AND high coverage enough for acne but ALSO that do not emphasise texture or dryness because any microscopic shadows of texture are so contrasting to the paleness that they are seemingly magnified. Do you have any tips? (Obviously client based experience too because your skin looks great xxxx)
