YES IT WAS a wake up call ! I have used my unemployment $ to set up an Emergency Fund, a Health Fund, and a Car Fund plus I am paying down debt - no, I didn't want a pandemic to occur but I am making the best of a bad situation.

Thankfully my wake up call was in 2018 when I got divorced. After that I changed everything and got going on the debt snowball. Now I have one more debt left. Can't wait!

One left!! Whoooooot!! Do you have a good circle to celebrate when you get it done? My husband is unsure about my total opinion change but we are doing it and he can’t really argue with the principal of having an emergency fund and paying off debt with purpose.

My husband and I were introduced to Financial Peace University by our church. We started attending the class January 23rd just before the Covid started! Our starter emergency fund of $1,000 then is now fully funded for 6mos! Never could I imagine what will happen if we haven't known you guys. Dave Ramsey and team are a such a blessing! It totally changed our lives! Thank you very much!!❤

Fortunately I didn't lose my job since it's considered essential. I actually ended up with even more hours cause of everything that was going on. But if I would have lost my job I had the peace of mind with an emergency fund. We have all had our wake up call, which is what makes us change our finances.

Irony: I JUST started doing Dave Ramsey’s plan and COVID wiped out my baby emergency find, FYI no debt but, super frugal, a saver and blessed to have no debt. I treat what I want to save for like paying off debt and “snowball”. I have multiple digit savings accounts for every big trip I want to take, anything big I wanna buy (not much and all of it will last long), and buying a tiny house in cash.

Covid19 has shown me what's necessary and what's not. I have not bought one article of clothing or shoes since February. I realized that I already had too much clothes and had nowhere to wear them anyway, because of covid lockdown.(Next project is to clean out my closet. Lol) Even though my husband took a bit of a pay cut we've been able to get through this pandemic without touching our 3 month emergency fund. And with adjusting our budget we're still able to add to it to build it up to 6 months. BUDGET! BUDGET! BUDGET! We were able to have a wonderful surprise graduation bbq for our daughter as well, because of our sinking fund. Through His word and the Dave Ramsey program, God has truly shown us how to be good stewards of His/our money.

Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. I am also proud to see Rachel following in her father's footsteps. I enjoy listening to money matters as l myself practice good money habits. I have been in s situation where l was out of work for over three years, thanks to having a solid emergency fund, no debt and a good friend, l was able to pay my bills.

If people couldn't pay their bills due to covid, then they were living pay to pay. This is the definition of working class. So how come Americans call themselves middle class? 75% live pay to pay. So 75% are working class. Why is this so hard to understand?

I work with Pell Grant students to apply for more scholarships. It is so surprising when these students site their middle class background - - your not middle class if you qualified for Pell. It’s based on household income. The persistence that we are all middle class a false message to make people happy with whatever they currently own. Keeps people comfortable, complacent, calm in economic uncertainty. Ask people the range of middle class and people will site $45k -$450k for a family of 4. Paycheck to Paycheck isn’t the only factor it’s certain jobs which we call blue vs white collar and income.

3 to 6 mos. Due to covid 4 mos is now gone. 2 mos left and now states are closing again. Was in baby step 2. Main earner. 80% lost. Son came home from college spring break in March when state and colleges shut down, entering last year, and we were cash funding education. He has been looking for work but everything closed. All interns pulled out due to COVID. This is his last year coming up.

Please ask your viewers to PREVENT becoming infected with the covid-19 virus. Planning won’t help if we become infected and sick. I cannot imagine having healthcare bills in the thousands or even a million dollars. It’s possible to become homeless because of being unable to pay healthcare bills . I am able to isolate at home. I have done so for months. No one is allowed in my home. My rare ventures outside of my home are only for food and medical prescriptions. I wear a face mask, use disposable gloves and carry my own sanitizer. I immediately dispose of gloves and masks as I am about to reenter my house I do not reuse them.I behave this way to PREVENT the deadly virus from entering my body and/or me possibly spreading it to others. Preparing and planning are not as good as PREVENTION. My emergency fund is fully intact and has been for years. Please help us to stay healthy and safe. Thank you for your reality checks.

I’m so glad I had my baby emergency fund - it saved me from so much stress, and I was able to build it back up. I wasn’t able to get as far as I wanted with BS 2, I’m high risk for Covid. But I’m chipping away and so grateful I started my debt free journey

The pandemic definitely was a wake up call for us. We sold one of our 3 cars for more savings, got completely out of debt including our house. Currently saving so we can get the 6 months emergency fund. Thank you Dave and Rachel Ramsey for showing the freedom and peace we can have when we take baby steps!

Love your channel, but let's have a heart to heart. Can we not do the clickbait title thing? I know these tactics work because I accidentally did it myself once on my blog. I got tons of views that day! However, I loathe them, and I refuse to allow them to work on me, so I always unsubscribe from channels who resort to them. Before I click on a video, I would rather have an inkling about what it contains. I try to never be led around by curiosity alone.
