The Parents of 'Britain's Youngest Transgender Child' Want a More Accepting Society | This Morning

Assigned female gender at birth, 4-year-old Stormy Stubbings first began showing signs of identifying as male at just 18-months-old. Stormy's father says his son 'hated pigtails and dresses' or even 'pretty shoes', and at the age of two-and-a-half told his family: 'I'm not a girl, I think I'm a boy'. However, the family have faced a struggle getting some adults to accept Stormy's decision - with many still insisting on calling him a girl. Stormy’s Mum and Dad, Matthew and Klara join us, in the hope that their story raises awareness so other families don’t suffer alone.

Imagine growing up and resenting your parents for the bad decisions they made that influenced your whole childhood.. As adults it is their job to guide their children until they are able to make their own decisions. If a 3 year old asks for a tattoo, you of course say no because that would be child abuse, Yet, apparently, It is ok to confuse your child by changing their gender before they even experience what it is. You should be raising your daughter as a daughter at least until she is old enough to make her own choices.. Shame on these parents for choosing for her.

KJK has done a u tube on this couple recently. The parents are getting a lot of attention still over this. It's really important that the government stops minors being able to access hormone blockers or surgeries, to protect them from parents like this. The fact they went to Mermaids for advice says a lot as well because their advice is certainly not going to be neutral. As for saying every day 'are you a girl or a boy?' made this child's life all about their identity, always questioning. The father says they are proud of Stomy for the choices he has made, something he no doubt says to Stormy and right there it makes it more difficult for the child to just be a girl, because the child has affirmation and extra attention for this plus Stormy will not want to disappoint. And as for her saying it's ok that a child might identify as non binary - how on earth would a child of that age know about such a concept unless the parents point the child in that direction.

The kid is going to change their mind soon, because they’re a kid. If they still feel the same way at 18 years old, then fair enough.

I can't make comment on those parents decision because it is my child, my views on this subject will not be approved by Utube or the Canadian government, i know all parents love their children too

@@helenalovelock1030 some kids want to be horses when they grow up. would you let an adult go be a horse and start walking on 4 legs out on the street, or would you say its cringe or shameful/embarrassing? Being something you're obviously not is something that shouldn't make you happy.. true happiness is being okay with the identity you have, and the way you are. What next, should we let people change races and say its for their happiness? Do we just allow 'inoffensive blackface' or whatever term it'll be if it happens exist?

A child will regularly say they are a dog, a horse or an astronaut. That doesn't mean they are a dog, a horse or an astronaut.
