Maestro Placido Domingo recently turned 83 years old, and definitely a dream come true for Dimash. The harmonies always give me chills when it comes in. Dimash said this was his dream to sing with maestro Domingo so his dream came true. Dimash sang tenor part, Maestro took easier baritone part of this duet. When Domingo became famous Dimash was not yet born :)

Yes Placido has said that he can't reach the notes or volume that he used to and Dimash tried to tone down the strength of his voice but at the same time giving his all as he always does. We're lucky to be able to witness this. I wish Pavarotti was still alive as he loved to duet with well known singers and it would be interesting to hear what he and Dimash would sing as it wouldn't just be operatic pieces 🥰

Having been raised by opera buff parents listening to operas and classics all my life, this duet with Dimash serves as a greatest introduction to those who loves Dimash into the opera world. Even though he sang with Aida Garifullina in duets and with Zarina Altynbayeva, singing with Placido Domingo is next level! Bravo to both of them for enriching our ears regardless of their ages.

Dimash was singing the lead in that piece, and Placido was singing the baritone part (he can sing in that range, obviously, but he’s not a baritone). I love Dimash, and I get why Placido took the 2nd part (his voice is still amazing but the high notes might have been harder to nail the way he did in his prime). But it still had to be weird for Dimash, who was obviously trained for opera but who does not regularly sing opera, to sing lead over one of the greatest operatic tenors who ever lived. I’m betting he’s still just gobsmacked. Who wouldn’t be?

Hey, it is over 50 years of age difference and yet so nicely blend their voice colours; if you listen to other takes of this song you will see that tenor always goes a little over bariton.

In all fairness, Maestro Domingo has always sung tenor and this was a baritone part. Dimash has expressed his respect and honour in achieving this dream. Cheers from Canada!

To me dimash is perfect. But I felt like he needed to use more vibrato to sound perfect tenor like placid and pavarrotti. His voice was a little flat. Perfect tenor should be rich with vibrato
