The Perfect Controller

A controller is easily one of the most immersive and important parts to playing a video game. Because after all, without any sort of input device in our hands there simply would be no such thing as playing the games we know and love in the first place; but with that in mind, does there actually exist such a thing as a "perfect" controller? Or are we still fighting to one day create our ideal input device?

CORRECTION: The "Pippin" Home Console WAS actually released fully to market in 1996, but was then discontinued by Apple and completely removed from in-store shelves a year later in 1997.

The N64 controller is alright to play with but break insanely easily. I think I've had a total of 20 controllers if you include changing joysticks and I wasn't a speedrunner or anything. Mario Party especially could kill one controller per session if you were unlucky.

I think the snes controller is the "perfect" controller, its comfortable, simple, and good looking. also cheap. 8bitdo made a custom snes controller that adds 2 more shoulder buttons and 2 joysticks, i havent tried it but it might be the "perfect" controller (in my opinion)

Closest to perfect for me are probably the switch pro or DS4. A perfect controller would have - switch pro size - PS4 triggers/face buttons - Wii U pro battery life - Series x textured grips - traditional Nintendo dpad. The switch pro dpad is a big step down.

4:20 - "much cleaner 2nd party controller known as Hori" - Hori is the brand name, not the controller's, lol. Kinda like if you said "Crash Bandicoot debuted in 1996 on a console known as Sony" ;p
