Hey i play like that too! Turning smoother feels much harder as I am pretty generally new to the game so your not actually alone in turning in tippy taps

I just started trackmania lately, and i do the same exact movement with the joystick. I think it probably stems from rocket league for me, since light turns are practically useless in RL

This video fucking rocks! Loved the editing style and the explanations! You managed to really show how powerful this upgrade can be lol. Just a few additions, we can actually use tasbounce in real time, though the extent is much much smaller than in TAS of course. There's a strat for the final boss in Hero Story that allows you to hit Shadow in a few frames using a tasbounce setup I created, and there's a player by the name of AxlThunder that used tasbounces in some missions as Amy (there's a challenge where we swap characters and try to complete missions they were not meant to have access to), he's the only real time player that actually uses tasbounces. One last thing, I was the one who found the gravity control mechanic back in 2008 and started using it to skip things in ILs 😃

This feels way too typical of trackmania "video essays" complete with silly text captions like 13:39. Would've preferred to have watched something that felt more original. Most people just want familiarity I guess.

Game actually sucks to try and learn. It's better than smash 64, but it still feels almost as clunky. Fighting games are supposed to be responsive and precise, and for me, Melee feels like a dice game whenever I want an input to come out. Even Brawl feels snappier than this crap.
@NintenJoe
@NintenJoe Ай бұрын
yo bit late but you just gotta be more intentional with ur inputs. you can only input something if your character can perform it in that state, learn those actionable states and it makes 10x more sense. you got this :)

Ok, so, a few things..... First off, the few comments you showed at the start of the video when talking about the "hate" Melee got, weren't even hateful at all, save for maybe one that I am convinced was a troll comment. Stuff like "This game is unbalanced", and "the glitchiest game in the series" are both perfectly valid criticism. Melee is the buggiest game in the series and the balance is completely lopsided, yet you wanna frame them as "hate"? A little extreme, no? Petty, but why show Sm4sh on stage when talking about Melee going to super majors? Just seems like a strange editing choice to make is all. One side of the whole "EVO 2013 shutdown" I think is ignored is the potential legal side of having games like Melee set up as a donation drive game, something this video forgot to mention. I cannot confirm this as any kind of true, but I have heard rumors that the reason why Nintendo stepped in with EVO 2013 was cause they did not get the thumbs up from Nintendo to have it as a mainstage game. How true are these? Hard to say, but a side of the conversation I think is overlooked in all the hype of having a game like Melee being respected. To say that there is no difference between someone playing Ult for a year vs 5 years is very dismissive to those who have taken the time to get good at the game, so to say that feels very dismissive and frankly a little rude to those who spent the time in the lab, and there is a difference. It is not the game's fault if you refuse to look any more than the bare minimum surface level. Also, I couldn't help but get a small laugh out of you calling the game all buggy as "quirky game engine details". It is ok to say the game is busted. No one will give you shit for it. If they do, that's a them issue. Overall, the video is presented well enough, but to call a game with a lopsided competitive roster, competitive mechanics that come from bugs (and stuff like an invisible ceiling just spawning to take sets, and phantom hits going completely unaddressed by the community to my knowledge, despite the community having the knowledge and skill set to do something about it, they gave the game a whole modern internet infrastructure, you cannot tell me they cannot address stuff like this and don't even start me on the fact that more than 1 character is incomplete) I can't in good faith call this game a masterpiece, competitive or otherwise, no matter how many people enjoyed it growing up, or how hype it is for some to watch.
