3:26 actually the margarita is the tequila version of a sidecar, which is a similar but different family of drinks than the daiquiri that uses liqueur instead of sugar syrup for sweetness

Videos like these are what got me into bartending. Now I have my own home bar and am constantly making drinks for myself and friends all the time, and love every second of it. Love you guys, but mainly Trever.

Technically the daiquiri, the margarita, and the gimlet are all sours which makes sense as sours are the oldest cocktail. Obviously each is can be modified for preference. As seltzer and they become a fizz drop on and so forth.

I make my daiquiri’s with 1 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz rich demurara syrup I make at home, and usually 2 oz of light rum with a float of dark rum. Turns out delicious!

the sailors wouldn't drink the rum straight, they used it to make grog which was was rum heavily diluted with water (disinfecting it) with lemon that helped fight survy.

not to be 'thattt guyyy' but a margarita is actually based on a sidecar temple that balances acidity and an alcohol base with a liqueur's sweetness. (cognac - swapped for tequila, cointreau and lemon juice - swapped from lime juice) + a bit of sugar sometimes.

I guess it's a daiquiri, but it's definitely a variation. An original daiquiri would use a Cuban-style light rum, like a Bacardi Carta Blanca or Havana Club 3 Años (seriously guys, drive to Mexico, get a bottle or two and drive back, it's definitely worth the effort) and unmodified simple syrup.
