Guys, if there's one thing Kuala Lumpur knows what it's doing, it's entertaining guests. Kuala Lumpur has an immense amount of things to do. So much so that we had to break this up into multiple videos! Today's video is all about a few of the incredible things to do in Kuala Lumpur that are outdoors, including a third that may come as a surprise!
We kicked off our first day in Kuala Lumpur by visiting arguably it's most well-known spot, Batu Caves. I can't even describe how majestic this place is. Batu Caves is a spectacular Hindu temple built into a huge cave at the top of a (very steep) flight of stairs. It's known for it's massive statue of Murugan, the colorful steps, & of course, the monkeys. LOTS of monkeys. If you're going to visit Kuala Lumpur, then your trip isn't complete until you visit Batu Caves!
From Batu Caves we headed further into Kuala Lumpur to see the KL Forest Eco Park. It was a little bit expensive to enter but my goodness was it beautiful. It was so incredible to us that in the midst of the Kuala Lumpur skyscrapers & cityscapes, such a beautiful tropical rainforest could also exist. That's something Kuala Lumpur has done a marvelous job of, building this gorgeous city while also retaining space for its wildlife. It was such an awesome park to visit.
From there, we headed to Perdana Botanical Garden. This is the largest park in Kuala Lumpur & you could easily spend an entire day exploring it. There are obviously the ponds, walking paths, & gardens to explore, but we had no idea there'd be some paid areas to visit, one of which being our last stop! While in Perdana Botanical Garden, we stumbled upon Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. This park was unquestionably the highlight of the day for us. Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is known as "The World's Largest Free-Flight Aviary", & honestly we believe it. There were birds ALL over the place. We spent a good few hours meandering around the park seeing all the birds & honestly having the best time. We can't recommend Kuala Lumpur Bird Park enough!!
This was obviously a bit different from our normal videos, but we had to film our first day in Kuala Lumpur because we knew it'd be fun! If you have any recommendations for things to do in Kuala Lumpur then get down in the comments & let us know! See you guys in a few days!:)

Not really in KL but about 1+ hour drive from KL, you can visit the Elephant Sanctuary in Kuala Gandah, State of Pahang. You can combine your visit with the Deer Park which located nearby.

KL boasts some amazing and interesting museums that you can check out such as the Biomedical Museum, Craft Museum, Orang Asli Museum, Royal Museum (Old National Palace), Bank Negara (Central Bank) Museum and Police Museum. Also, the art galleries in KL are mostly free and fun to visit too.

There is an over 100 years old Malay traditional house in KL city known as "Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman" located opposite across the street from Royale Chulan Hotel. Visitors can enter the house by joining a guided tour at 3pm (RM10 entrance fee). You can combine your visit of this traditional house with the KL Craft Complex which located nearby.

That coverage of the bird park was awesome. I didn't expect it to house so many different species of exotic birds. I'm a subscriber to your channel now guys, keep up the good work! 😂

Thank you so much Nick!!! Honestly that bird park was one of the big highlights of KL for us, partly because we just didn’t expect it at all. We always like visiting zoos but something about walking amongst all those different species of birds felt so unique. We loved it. Thank you so much again for subscribing and for watching our video!! We really appreciate it!!!!

So close to 10K subscribers... congratulations!! I visited the Batu caves in 2018, the week after the steps were painted! I was a 17 year old travelling solo to Australia and KL was a 3 day stop-over. I remember the monkeys and bats at the cave. I loved the Eco Park too.

Thank you!!!❤️ That’s seriously so incredible to me that you solo-traveled at 17!!🤯 People from the US just don’t do that at that age lol. Those monkeys are insane though. We’re glad we went but honestly, we probably won’t be back to Batu Caves. It was definitely cool but…those monkeys are diabolical 😅 thank you so much for watching Imogen!!!❤️

Welcome to KL, and enjoy your tour. If you plan to stay longer in Malaysia, pls consider tour extensively at Southern part, East Coast, and East Malaysia, you can continue from KL. There's so much places in Malaysia to visit, I just can't remember them all unless you already know it than me. We Malaysian netizens here will propose you touristic sites as much as we can. There are many USA vloggers (Passport Visionz, Travelling Solo Logs) now in Malaysia, not sure if you know or ever met them. BTW, enjoy your trip.

Get to Genting Highlands (the Las Vegas of Malaysia), which is just an hour, Northeast of Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the cable car ride to the top and see a dazzling city built upon a hill, with Casinos, Resorts, Indoor and Outdoor Theme Parks. The cool weather is another plus. World's largest hotel is up there too.

Batu Caves were great. We visited before the steps were painted and work was being done near the top. Somebody at the bottom was telling all the tourists they had to carry a brick to the top to contribute. The steps were littered with abandoned bricks 😆

I don’t blame people to be honest🤣🤣 those steps are just so unbelievably steep and you never really know it until you’re standing at the bottom. I’m glad we did it but I can guarantee we won’t again😂 thank you so much for watching Alan!!!

Unbelievable! Trey going up 272 steps but still afraid of heights? 🤔 On your way down I was thinking: "Please don't let that monkey jump on his back", that would've been disastrous, lol ... That last place you visited was for the birds, literally speaking of course, beautiful and really unique!

Omg Eddy, the moment we got to the top and I turned around, I literally got SO mad at myself for climbing up there. I spent my entire time in the cave wondering how in the world I was going to get down😂 then the monkeys came and I REALLY started freaking out🤣 it’s a once in a lifetime visit for us for sure lol. Thank you so much for watching Eddy!!!❤️

@ProbablyLost the size of that new park (they moved from jurong bird park), is larger though. Almost similar amount of birds. But I am unsure if we will increase the size of ours in the near future as we hv more land area than Singapore. They have limited space for both humans and animals.

I “love” how all those videos put the dead boring and completely disappointing Batu caves on the front of their video thumbnails, looking all excited. The only “thing” about these caves are the steps, the two caves themselves are completely charmless. Especially compared to VN’s Marble Mountains, where there’s a variety of different caves that still feel mystical, with beautiful views and a cafe in the middle, Batu caves aren’t even worth the Grab ride. I’m still looking forward to the KZfaqr making a video that’ll admit it’s the most overrated main tourist attraction in SE Asia, lol :-P But then the problem with KL is that there simply isn’t anything else really worth sightseeing. It may give you a Bangkok vibe, but Bangkok has a myriad more things to do and so much more history, temples, river cruises etc. All those general complaints about the caves aside, THANKS for mentioning the botanical gardens! I’m in KL right now with apparently nothing to do after having seen the malls and Batu caves, so I’ll happily go there. Nice content! :)
