50th was a complete joke and showed that Moffat is more interested in his own hubris rather than history of the show complete with snarky comments about not able to get William Hartnell to answer his phone. He made 50th special about HIS version of the show, not about Doctor Who as a whole. At least Big Finish with Zagreus had the decency to celebrate almost every Doctor Who actor who was working with them at the time. But in Moffat's world only NuWho Doctors are worth putting any sort of effort. Why bother when you can just show some pictures and archive clips for a few seconds? Things like Five(ish) Reboot show passion and celebration of people who worked under the Doctor Who banner in the past and they will be remembered with much more love in years to come.

oh you must! if you think this vid is funny, you have to see the whole film! I can't belive they got away with this! the whole time fans were ranting that steven had no classic doctors in the fiftieth, peter davidson was playing with those very complaints and directing moffat on video! and all the stereotypes people have about these people got played. It is a total riot! I honestly want the fifth doctor to direct a real episode of the show.

It's an amazing story. It got faces from both classic and new Who. Newer fans are not forgotten as both David Tennant and Matt Smith make short cameos in the story. And it's the first Doctor Who story to actually have Moffat as a villain. It's hilarious!

The 50th anniversary is supposed to be about celebrating the 50 year run of the series, while paving the way for the future direction of the show. The chemistry between Smith, Tennant, and Hurt was fantastic with great dialogue and scenes. It tied up all the lingering regenerations that were missing, gave the Doctor a new lease on life and purpose, and fulfilled most of what fans wanted. Not to mention all the mini episodes and joke sketches that accompanied DotD. It was one of the best Doctor Who events I've seen in a while.

+BlueHooloovoo did you watch the same episode as me? all i saw was "Oh no doctor think of the children". its was hardly a special at all. all saw was a reminder that the 10th doctor gets soppy and likes to kiss people. thats really special. 11th doctor gets all querky. i acctualy can't think of anything the 11th doctor does after that... Clara was still a card-bored cut out of a character. and John Hurts doctor says no more and zigons were in it for some reason they didn't need to be....it could have been any other shape shifting alien race could have been Frobisher the penguins race. the only reason they were there was because "Ohh zigons! you like zigons right cuz there classic" err.....they put galifray in a painting and save the day and was billy piper nessesery outside of continuity dumping? not really...they could have casted anyone

And the Doctor never learnt anything from it. Now he thinks he has the right to go back in time and fix something just lickaty split. I never felt like the fan I want to be watching it

Yes. But he couldn't tell his fellow classic Doctors, as he had to keep it quiet. So, they didn't know he would actually be in the 50th. Paul later apologised to them during a panel.
