The Perfect Layover: Brussels, Belgium (Making the most of a short visit!) featuring Robbie Travels

It's been 17 long years since I last made it through Belgium's vibrant capital city. Flying from Africa to Saudi Arabia on Brussels Airlines made for the perfect reason to schedule a full-day layover here to explore the city AND meet up with Belgian travel vlogger Robbie Travels to experience the city through his local advice.
My journey through Brussels began at the beautiful Grand Place to admire the city's stunning City Hall and Bread House, before moving on the Mannekin Pis statue and the stunning Galleries Royale St. Hubert covered shopping streets. I then met up with Robbie and followed his lead through the lesser-known tourist sights in the capital, from the National Palace to the Palais du Justice, to the imposing ferris wheel, to the land of 2000 beers at the impressive Delirium Bar, Robbie was a great local guide to show me places in the city that I would never have known about otherwise!

great vlog! I used to take jet airways very often to go from canada to india and back. we had about 4 hours layover time in BRU. Not enough to get out but I used to think when I am older I will book a day or two layover- unfortunately, the airlines is no more! BRU back on the wish list, seems like a cool place to check out. Robbie looks like an awesome guy. Cant beat a friendly local to show you the city. Good vibes!

Do you think i could explore the central area with a 5 hour lay over?

Definitely - just make sure you don't venture too far from Central Station, in case you run short of time. I'd suggest hitting up the Grand Place, Mannekin Pis, the Galleries St. Hubert, Neuhaus Chocolates, and Fritland, then head back to the airport. That'll give you at least 2-3 hours in the city center, and you'll see plenty.
