Yes that combo is bom. It is killing Eco styler gel. But I must say yall been sleepin on shea butter. That curling cream you used is mostly shea butter. And flaxseed gel been banging. I've been using it for 4 yrs since I went back natural. I am glad you found it. It's always a healthier gel option. Your hair look beautiful!

@onlyonejess although we have slightly different textures, what works for me with almost every product is adding product in the shower on saturated hair. That whole spray bottle ish NEVER works for me regardless of the product. Once my hair begins to dry, it sets and some sprinkles of water aren’t doing anything. I played around with the texture of the flaxseed gel by seining going from 1/4 to 1/2 of flaxseeds with 2 cups of water. Once it boils a few minutes I strain t hot using a mesh strainer. After the first strain I add 2 more cups of water and repeat. Once I’ve washed and detangled, in the shower, I squeeze out excess water and separate the hair and apply the gel beginning at the root. Sometimes I’ll finger cool usually not. My curls pop and I leave the first day cast on because after a day it’s gone and this helps with me having a 5 day wash n go. I did get a tip that has worked like crazy, I never use a brush or comb. I finger comb only. Thought it was crazy in the beginning but now my hair is curlier and easier to detangle with way less shedding. Brushes including deman, bust all my curls up causing them to puff up and usually puffs my roots giving me a fro at the first couple of inches of hair with some curls on the end 🙄...I also find that diffusing keeps my curls tight. Although due to he amount of hair I have I always have volume so I don’t fluff. You may get better results with 1/2 cup flaxseeds to two cups water and while your hair is dripping wet 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hey Jess! You should try making your flaxseed gel a little thicker, meaning add more seeds or use less water when you make it. Also, the amount of time you allow it to boil down determines thickness ( you can always add more water if it's too thick). I've been making my flaxseed gel almost every week for the past month & a half now. I typically use just the gel and some aloe vera juice/water mix in my spray bottle when styling my hair. The thicker flaxseed gel alone gives me bomb definition and my curls clump really well with it! BTW: My hair is 4b in the back & towards the sides, & its 4c in the top and front.
