Fun fact: Johnny isn't actually a virgin, just acts like one. There's an episode where a bunch of Amazons wanted to sacrifice him to a volcano thinking he was a virgin, not only he acted confused, but the volcano spat him as well.

This was one of my favorite crossovers, and the scenes with Johnny and Velma were definitely the highlight. Their interactions was so popular that they actually were in a relationship during the CN Bumpers back in the day. Also that scene between Fred and Daphne always got a laugh out of me.

Velma is apparently just Canonically shameless Flirt😂 Edit: Idk if it matters but as a woman or rather as a young girl I actually loved Johnny Bravo. I knew he wasn't the kind of guy girls liked to date but I never even as a kid got the impression his behavior was what I had to see as "acceptable " In fact I liked the fact that women would often be the ones to beat him up despite being half his size. It gave me the impression that I didn't need to settle for anyone I didn't like. In a lot of weird ways it gave me confidence as a young girl growing up👧

Wouldn’t you like it if he had a permanent girlfriend starting with the Valentine’s Day special? Because I like that compared to the other women, Heather Asplund accepted Johnny for who he is and that some of the stuff she did to him was in good fun rather than malice.

@@DuskTillShawn Compared to Johnny Bravo, Pepe Le Pew isn’t as moronic, and sometimes he does take the hint on how these faux skunks were running away from him. I mean, I get it, Pepe is being too straightforward with how he approaches women, but rapist isn’t who I can describe him, that’s saying like he doesn’t respect the person for who she is… then again, there were some shorts that abruptly ends with him and the female at a corner, with one of them ending with Pepe attacking a female with kisses while his stink runs through the vents and ruining artwork. And may I remind you that his smell was suppose to be the one detriment that keeps females away from him… but I’m rambling on too long. Point is, Pepe sometimes gets the hint that he can be too straightforward, Johnny Bravo does not. Also, I’m surprised they didn’t keep Heather Asplund as his girlfriend, because Johnny Bravo at one point was a spy; they would’ve given him a happy ending like they did with the half-hour Christmas special, and that it would’ve been a nice addition calling back to the original pitch for Season 2.

@@mechajay3358 My guess is the old CN toons worked like Roger Rabbit. The portray one side of themselves when "working" or making an episode and another off-screen. Hence why Johnny began dating Velma, or why Speed Racer had a spot in the old CN parking lot. Hell even Aku would just be casually hanging around from time to time not actually doing anything evil.

Johnny is similar to Pepe LePew in the sense that he’s a horndog protagonist whose actions are plainly immoral and is shown to suffer as a result. I feel like if you’re to have a perverted character in a series, this is the proper way to do it since it helps illustrate why such behavior doesn’t work - you’re supposed to laugh at them, not cheer them on.

Oh man!! What a trip on memory lane you gave me! I would love to see you talk about Johnny Bravo later, it's definitely an interesting character that nowadays has persisted, in what I percieve with the r/Niceguys. Not specifically Johnny Bravo himself but like what these Nices Guys™ express that a man has to be to get the girl/woman, just all the superficial parts of attractiveness but with zero effort on the inside from their part, and then complaining they don't get the girl/woman...just to repeat the cycle again. At least from that perspective it would be interesting, if you get any more things than from Johnny Bravo I would love to check it out too. 🌟

Ah yes… the episode that set the Velma Bravo ship asail. Good times. Gooood times. God I remember this ep per word, and I haven’t seen in years. Gotta go watch it again. Also, side note, Johnny B was my fave guy growing up. I was a little girl who may have been kinda dumb to the fact he was technically a jerk- but honestly he was still a sweet guy. Anyone who raised a baby T. rex has my immediate affection XD Jokes aside, the humor to JB always amused me because, as many have already put it, the reason Johnny worked so well is because despite the fact of being the titular character, he was the butt of the simple joke of “be a brainless jock you get the dock”. There were few episodes that had him find someone interested in him back (Velma and the secret agent are my top otps) but generally the message to young impressionable girls was, hunky, nice or otherwise, if a guy bugs you and you don’t like it: kick his ass after you’ve declined your limit. The one that sticks out the most to me here is the one where a guy teaches Johnny the nice guy way to pick up girls, as well as the one where a fortune teller turns him into “Jenny Bravo”. Yeah he never fully learns his lesson, but that doesn’t mean we the audience didn’t.

A personal favorite Johnny Bravo episode is not from the early seasons when they changed the style adding more characters and cutting the Jungle Kid completely, the episode "To Helga And Back", I think that is the episode that perfectly encapsulates Johnny Bravo as a show, at the end of the episode Johnny might had the woman he likes by who she was but ruined by being the stereotypical macho he plays when he tries to conquer a girl.

Also the creator of Johnny Bravo said the execs really weren't paying attention i.e. you could basically get away with anything as long as it wasn't gory, had cussing, or the theme's weren't overly dark

Member that time when Johny was placed in a corn field ? When this was going on ( the crossover ) he was trying to get to his own damn cartoon because the brat blasted him into another dimension so he stole a car trying to get back on his show.
