That’s unfortunate. There are a lot of new apartments being built downtown now so hopefully with all the new ground floor retail/restaurant spaces and new residents, businesses in the downtown area can thrive in the future.

The industry is broken.

Its bitter sweet because while its great that downtown is trying to develop. Unfortunately what will happen is that as downtown develops and the rent goes up mom and pop shops won't be able to take advantage of the growth in downtown and deep pocket investors will.
