My dad's cousin was incarcerated here in the 80s, and he went to visit him once and said it was disturbing as hell and in awful condition even while still in full operation. I live an hour north of Mansfield and have still never toured it. I'm intrigued but even if ghosts aren't real it's so unsettling...

Fun fact my grandfather went to prison in the reformatory in 85 before it closed down. He told me that when he went to sleep he could hear screaming and falling and when he looked out of his cell there was nothing there.

Broooooo, this place is CRAZY HAUNTED! I’ve been there (cuz I lived in Ohio for a while) and I stayed for about 3 hours, and it was sooo spooky! I heard what sounded like murmurs, and i heard a ton of weird sounds. 10/10, should be something you see if you ever go to Ohio

I live in Ohio, Ive lived 6-ish mins away from the reformatory for the past 5 years, and have been in it twice,it's mad creepy and disturbing,I recommend it if u want a good scare, especially around Halloween every year they have this MAD scary Halloween house in the reformatory, it's cool, not for the faint of heart

I appreciate while Ryan is trying his best to get contact with ghosts, he consistantly interrupts, pressures, and tries to scare them off... Such as using the Spirit talker, he'd constantly put them on time limits, any small noises he'd shout over. and with a camera telling them "Everyone will know you're here!"

You know, my grandfather taught at the old Ohio state penitentiary, the Mansfield penitentiary and our local small town college, shawnee state university. Plus, him and my grandma ran a real estate company. You should check him out. His name is Eugene Jennings Geary. He was the best grandpa we could ever ask for, but watching your show, because he was a huge man, makes me wonder if he was involved in the mistreatment of the prisoners???? Breaks my heart to even consider that. 😢😢😢

I was just in the reformatory for an author event, I felt a strange presence the moment I stepped into the building. There were a bunch of strange occurrences while I was there, phones stopped working, tapping was heard frequently, at one point while I was starting to leave I took a picture of the east cell block and I thought I seen eyes in a cell on the bottom row.

Honestly, I’m from Columbus and have walked around the Mansfield Reformatory many times in broad daylight, and at night when they do the Haunted Prison at Halloween, and it’s always creepy af. I don’t think I’d do it alone at night like this. The prison is so creepy and eerie. I’ve walked around alone during the daytime and you can tell something just ain’t right in there. I wouldn’t even go into the solitary area bc it gave me the heebie jeebies. No thanks.

I went here September 13, 2019 because I’m from Ohio. Shawshank is definitely a draw for visiting, but the reformatory also hosts overnights. It’s a cool place to visit.

When I visited here, I smelled roses, heard someone ask if I was okay after I coughed, someone breathe in my ear and felt I was being watched and got a bad headache when passing the cells at the bottom and great sadness in the hospital part :( in the chapel there were white feathers everywhere it was surreal
