IMO it might not be too far fetched to speculate that Hisoka personally killed Neon after seeing how dangerous a future predicting ability is in the hands of Chrollo.

I'm thinking Hisoka and Kurapika will team up again to eliminate the Phantom Troupe. They did team up before for information so I think it's a possible theory worth exploring. I also think it's inevitable by this point that Kurapika will learn the Troupe is there.

Chrollos low key slipping as a leader. Back in York New he ordered the Troupe to go out in pairs to search for Kuropika, because he was dangerous. Now hes letting members go off on their own, and given the conditions if they want to team up with him.

There’s a third big theory on how neon died. Hisoka was very aware of neon and her ability during the yorknew arc its very possible Hisoka killed her.

I actually believe Hisoka was actively hunting down the nen users who Chrollo has stolen skills from, or at least the ones he is aware of. Removing them is essentially a indirect attack on Chrollo, and in this case killing the awareness of the future would allow him to move to his own beat as nothing is yet determined or forewarned.

We’ve received confirmation Hisoka is a hard counter towards Noburanga as well… I doubt bungee gum could be cut by a sword simply enhanced with Nen and we have subtle hints of that too. Hisoka has the Elmer of surprise due to texture surprise but so does Chrollo with Transfer Student, a big threat to Kurapika as if Kurapika uses Chain Jail on a Chrollo lookalike, Kurapika will die.

Hisoka might have posed as a bodyguard, In the chapter(370), Kurapika was teaching nen and there's a bodyguard who has a heart symbol on his dialogue. For some reason I only remember seeing this with Hisoka's dialogues in the entire manga and it clicked for me, I might be wrong but I think that's him.

I find the theory that Illumi is Hisoka plausible and intriguing but I actually think it would be more Togashi-esque to give us all these clues but then do something less expected. Illumi has pretended to be Hisoka before (in Yorknew) and is also his "friend". So he should be well aware of Hisoka classic mannerisms AND even be able to mimic his distinctive voice if necessary (presumably he was not completely mute while subbing in for Hisoka in Yorknew). I think that at a specific "ah ha!" moment (possibly called out by Machi when she notices a Hisoka mannerism... maybe why Togashi chose to leave her alive; or perhaps Hisoka will give Illumi some Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise concocted needles as a decoy to mislead people), the troupe and Chrollo will "discover" that Illumi is Hisoka and go in for the kill but it is revealed that they "caught" the wrong person and it was Illumi all along leaving small diversionary hints that he is Hisoka. Illumi may even get to needle a troupe member if they think he will only be using Bungee Gum and let their guard down. It would mirror nicely what happened in their Heaven's Arena fight where Hisoka catches "Chrollo" only to discover he got a clone instead. And we all know Hisoka thoroughly enjoys using his opponents tactics against them to turn the tables and win the battle.... edit: come to think of it... Machi is the only person left alive (that we know of) who has witnessed Hisoka's new and improved Bungee Gum techniques. And Hisoka left her alive to report back to Chrollo. So it may make even more sense that he plans to use this against her/Chrollo as above where she thinks she has caught him by following these clues including knowing he can remake his face/body, only to fall into an elaborate trap. 🤔

Really hope Togashi takes his times with where this is heading. The amount of fights and cool scenes that can be made can be stretched so far into many arcs.

Franklin is scary, i prefer him as a leadet next to Chorollo. He's calm when sh*t got escalated but also smart when it comes on desicion making. The fact he also has a ruthless mindset make him very capable of handlng the spider.

It is entirely possible that this was Togashi's way of telling us she was, but Kurapika is a crafty boy, and crafty boys might find other ways to remove an ability from Chrollo's book. More to the point: what if a component of the Skill Hunter Hatsu is to "mark" a victim with nen - in other words, the victim of a skill theft is inflicted with a curse that enables Chrollo to use their ability. If said curse is required for skill hunter to work, then all Kurapika needed to do was find a Nen exorcist to restore Neon's fortune telling and truly cement his influence over the nostrade family!

The theory is why Hisoka left Machi alive is so that she can deliver his declaration of war to Chrollo which makes sense. If Hisoka wanted to kill Machi he wouldn't have used his bungee gum on her and left her there. He would have fought her head on in an all out fight.

Okay I'm just going to come out and say it... *Illumi is a red herring!!* He's the real Illumi on a real contract to take out Hisoka. Everyone is assuming that he's Hisoka in disguise because it's the most obvious choice (assuming Hisoka has chosen to be in disguise at all) and him being there feels suspicious. PERSONALLY...I am actually suspicious of... BONOLENOV!!! Since when does he have a power to change his form?! How convenient for him to have a shape shifting ability!!! What if..... he's ACTUALLY HISOKA IN DISGUISE? Think of it.. there's very little distinguishing features showing on Bonolenov, just his eyes and nose. Most of him is obscured by wrappings and questionable fashion tastes. How easily could Hisoka conceal his true form under those linen strips? All he'd have to manipulate and contort would be his nose and eyes. Also how convenient that Bonolenov seeks to partner with Chrollo.. establishing a sense of safety in Chrollo when he's around Bonolenov. So if Bonolenov popped up he wouldn't have his guard up and when Hisoka was ready to attack he would have the upper hand of surprise. Same with the other Troupe members.. none of them would be suspicious of Bonolenov popping up near them. I have my eye on you Bonolenov.... 😒 Always watching.....

I'm just now thinking, they've all seen Hisoka's general arua before and while using a nen strong enough to convincingly change into someone else might affect how your arua is out put, the way nen and arua have been described makes it seem like, the feel and visuals of someone's arua (especially potent arua) are distinct sooooo wouldn't they at least feel a similar presence around Illumi? I believe the theory and I think that's what Togashi is going for buuut I think it's an oversight. Especially considering Machi and Hisoka have a history and Chrollo is absurdly well versed in nen

Neon didn't kill herself or any other mafia boss. I thought the implication was obvious. Hisoka killed Neon, just like he killed Shalnark and Kortopi. Getting Neon's intelligence is easy with Hunter card. Her death is imperative since he openly declared war via Machi. My deeper guess is that if Hisoka killed Neon in a reversable way like choking and then brought her back to life with cpr. Then, Neon's power would come back to herself, and Hisoka could use her power to predict the future. I'm so deep and smart, I know, I know. Edit: Also, Hisoka secretly loves Machi, sexually, it's implied multiple times. He invited her to a date twice already. I fully expect a twist and Neon is alive. There is a lot we don't know about stealing/borrowing Nen. I think Illumi can go to tier 3 because he is a Hunter. Other than the Zodiacs and Royal Family, and other very high government officials I don't think anybody can curtail where he goes on the ship.

Bonolonov absolutely is hard countered by Hisoka, Jupiter is a strong ability but it takes time and aura to make happen, Hisoka will not let him use it. Hisoka also can plug his ears with bungee gum or like, normal ear plugs, so he'll be immune to Bonolonov's body flute thing completely. Metamorphosis is like his only shot, and by his own admission he doesn't feel like he'd be able to use it well enough to kill Hisoka on his own

Is it possible that Neon was killed by Hisoka as a means of weakening Chrollo? Hisoka was aware of the ability since he had his own fortune read, and it probably wouldn't be hard for him to track down the fortune teller given her fame/his connections. Plus, if Chrollo was able to read the future, then that would make it a lot harder for Hisoka to get to him and the other spiders.

I have heard that theory multiple times that hisoka is illumi. There are a lot of loopholes for that theory but people still think it is possible. It is also the most disrespectful theory out there because it makes chrollo and the spiders so stupid that they got tricked 2 times. It is also out of character for hisoka to do that kind of trick.
