One thing that I love that KZfaqrs seem to be understanding that a lot of comments aren’t is that the sixers don’t really have many better options besides lebron or Brandon Ingram and neither of those are looking like they are going to move. The sixers have a 2-3 year window at best so yeah, the contract is going to look bad by that point. We dealt with paying that level of money to Tobias Harris because Jimmy butler didn’t want to stay. Now we have a better player who fits very well with the team. We have no one else to spend money on while having cap so at least this one makes more space than with Tobias

As a rampant Clipper fan, you see that PG's stats are an average of great and lousy games. He averaged 17 points last February, and had more single digit scoring games than anyone averaging 23 a game should. Those games where Kawhi was injured and PG needed to step up? Nothing. Harden joined the team and instantly PG was the 3rd option. He will be the third option at Philly, and he will go ice old and be a disappearing act for weeks at a time. You just pray its not in the playoffs. (yes his awesome games were great)
@Hardtoplease322 күн бұрын
I look at it this way. Is PG better and more consistent than Tobias Harris?!?!? Yes. PG is a decent size upgrade from Tobias Harris. Harris being the third option gave the sixers an 0/2 (FG), 29 minutes, ZERO point, 4 Rebound, 3 Assist outting in an elimination game. That is undefendable. I'll take an overpaid PG for 4 years then having to sit through even just one more Tobias Harris game. The Pistons finished with 14 wins?!?! Let's see how much Harris adds to that total.
@MasterofLightning16 сағат бұрын

They even could’ve done another season, at 26,734,400. So 4/96.59M extension, 5/112M total. That would’ve been a way for them to stay under the second apron this season while retaining KCP. They would’ve ended up in the 2A eventually, but you can be in the 2A for a year or two without much issue. Could’ve moved him after another 2-3 runs at the chip. But like I said maybe KCP didn’t want that long term deal, who really knows. I just think if you are a contender and need to pay a guy to remain at that level, you do it and figure it out later. $ should’ve never been an issue with how rich the owner is…and if they paid KCP like 3/72 or something even, they could’ve moved him in a couple years. The package wasn’t good enough. No Kuminga, then no deal. Flexibility is the best option after losing PG. With the new CBA, flexibility is the best way to go. That second apron is a killer. All of the clippers current signings have only been possible because PG decided to sign elsewhere. The Clippers aren’t a contender, but they are probably more or less the same with PG with the new additions. Also, there are still a few move the clippers could make to be a dark horse this coming season. From the Clippers current signings, it looks like they really want to focus on defense. Heck, with these signings, they would most likely be top 10 on defense this coming season. If anything, the goal is to have a huge amount cap space in 2026. He is nothing more than a good 3rd option for a contending team. Is Philly a contending team? Depends. Can Joel Embiid stay healthy throughout the season AND playoffs? If so, MAYBE. But they are still behind the Celtics and on par with the Knicks. The last time Paul George would be considered a "top tier" player was in 2018-19 when he finished 3rd in MVP and put up decent advanced stats (whose stats would still be below superstar level on my criteria) when he was age 28. Since then he has put up "okay" numbers at either all-star level or below all-star level advanced stats. He is 34. You might get 1-2 more good years from him.
