Zoro inspires me to be stronger and work harder for my dreams

I think there’s a connection between ashura and enma. To be reborn as an ashura means to be constantly reminded how much better life would have been if you had been reborn in a heavenly realm instead of Ashuradō. In some Buddhist traditions, the realm of ashura is considered to be the lowest level of heaven, and gets included among the “happy” rebirths. However, because ashura are so controlled by their emotions, it is almost impossible for them to achieve enlightenment, become buddhas, and escape the cycle of endless reincarnation. Souls who are reborn here are usually humans who lived good lives up to a point, but committed some wicked deed which prevents them from being reborn in the realm of heaven, sounds like Zoro! Enma is known as the king of hell, rescinding in the realm of Jigoku, one of six realms of Buddha. Enma’s chief duty is to judge the souls of the newly dead and send them on to their next location. Enma may seem fearsome and terrifying, at heart, he is a kind and compassionate god, and he truly wishes to save each soul from damnation, this may be why the souls of the dead are given so many tests and trials to avoid going to hell. Zoro recently remarked that enma is testing him, maybe to end the cycle of ashura reincarnation and move Zoro to the realm of Tendo. Tendo is the realm of heavenly beings filled with pleasure; they hold godlike powers; some reign over celestial kingdoms; most live in delightful happiness and splendor; they live for countless ages, but even the They belong to the world of suffering (samsara) for their powers blind them to the world of suffering and fill them with pride and thus even they grow old and die; some say that because their pleasure is greatest, so too is their misery. Basically Zoros will is Ashura and through test from enma the king of hell will accept his will allowing him to pass to the heavenly realm, which is where wado ichimonji will come into play. The definition of the sword is “Straight line through the path of harmony.” Its similar to the realm of Tendo and with Zoro mastering these realms will gain ashura for an extended period of time and later when he makes wado black will gain clairvoyance similar to Mihawk in his battle with shiryu.

Off the top of my head, as someone who loves character types like Zoro and well written bushido following characters in general, this might be my favorite Video of yours. Also, let me tell you that even with the huge amount of content you've been releasing lately, the quality has not dipped. Your videos are still amazingly well done! 21:28 You are a fantastic content creator mate. Now my 2 points about this video: 1: I hate that Zoro is constantly being seen as nothing but the fighter of the crew in the community. Zoro is the most irreplacable Strawhat aside from Luffy in my opinion. Everyone serves a technical role that can be replaced. Sure, you may not find a cook/navigator/doctor/shipwright/etc. as good as the ones we have right now, but you can 100% find one that does the job more than good enough. Meanwhile Luffy and Zoro have the only roles where they as individuals matter FAR MORE than their technical purpose. For the sake of Zoros role in the crew, him being a swordsman is irrelevant. Even if he was the cook, his role would be the same if he kept the same personality. Because his role is about enforcing a certain behaviour in the crew, upholding respect for Luffy, offering Luffy a more grounded and down to earth perspective on things, putting himself on the line to protect others and guide Luffy to be the best possible captain he can be. If you replace any Strawhat with someone who can do the same technical job well enough, nothing much changes other than the personal stories and interactions we've had. But if you replace Zoro with any other master swordsman that doesn't share his EXACT personality, the crew would've LONG since broken apart. No question in my mind. He is by far the most integral Strawhat right after Luffy. Luffy and Zoro are the only irreplacable Strawhats. I wanna clarify that doesn't mean I think the others can just be replaced now and nothing changes for us as viewers, because obviously we are attached to those characters. I mean if Nami never existed and we got another navigator, it would ultimately not matter compared to the impact it would have if Zoro was changed. 2: I love how you talked about Zoro being possibly the most compassionate character in the series. I gotta put some Sanji slander in here now. I HATE the scene where Brook confronts Big Mom and tells her Sanji is an incredibly kind man. Brook vs Big Mom in general is goated, but that one line had me cringe hard. Sanji molested people in the series, disrespects womens personal space and dignity CONSTANTLY, has little to no self control and loses himself in jealousy and rage over other men being more successfull CONSTANTLY. Sanji is quite frankly the most ill behaved and "evil" Strawhat. Meanwhile look at Zoro, not once in the series did he expect anything in return when he helped people. Not once in the series did he provoke anyone in the slightest or start any sort of conflict before his or his crews safety was threatened by said people, not once in the series did he witness something bad happening and did not rush in to help immediately. The only character I could think of that rivals Zoros kindness is Nami because she is the kind of person that immediately can forgive the gravest of sins if there is a true intent to change and repent behind it, as shown by her forgiving Hachi and Jinbei without any problem. Again, Sanji being the unkind asshole that he is told Jinbei to cut his own stomach open to apologize and insulted him, meanwhile Nami immediately forgave him as she understood Jinbei meant nothing bad and didn't think that Arlong would do what he did. Sanji is an asshat, Nami and Zoro are incredibly kind.

Great video, made me reflect more on Zoro and how, like the story itself at times, I haven't been giving him enough of the attention and focus he deserves. Despite my slightly waning interest in Wano atm I think your recent videos and discussions/rereads along with Morj's content are helping me to keep thinking about one piece and reminding me why I love the overall series as much as I do. I'm looking forward to whatever content you do next. (Also I liked your use of Sekiro footage, really fit the vibe.) You think you'll ever do a Wano retrospective whenever it finishes? I disagree with Zoro’s character Development. Many kids say that because Zoro told Luffy if he make trouble for his dream of wss he will kill Luffy And Later Zoro sacrifice his Dream for Luffy.They say Zoro was a selfish character and become selfless for that reason 👆 I told and they said Zoro had a character Development because this change about Luffy. Really what a bad and Nonsense reason for character development.
